Glenmar Photo Studios

My fiancee and I are trying to choose the photographer for our Fall 2000 wedding (at a temple in Nassau County). We like the photojournalistic look with a small amount of formals but the prices of many independent photographers who specialize in this are more $$$ than our budget will allow! We went to Glenmar and liked the price (for photography, video and albums) but we are unsure as to their photographic quality (black and white/color/photographic style) and trustworthyness. Has anyone had any positive/negative experiences with them? Thanks.

Hi Stacey,

I'm using Glenmar for my June 2000 wedding. They did the photography/videography for two of my cousins' weddings within the past year. Their photos & video were wonderful. They had their proofs and edited videos back within two weeks. Neither of them had anything bad to say about their experience with Glenmar.

My fiance and I are using Glenmar for our Aug. wedding, and I looked at 12 other photographers before selecting them. My good friend used them for her past Nov. wedding and had the proofs back like two weeks later - they turned out fantastic! I also know another couple that used them two years ago,and their pics are beautiful. Shopping around is definately important, though - that's how I figured out exactly what I wanted and what I didn't want. I have to say, though, they were the best and I am happy with my decision...Good luck & keep me posted!

Just a question about Mark since you seem to have a postive experience thus far I sent for his materials a few months back because of what I read on here but I stopped there because of his prices-- we want to stay around $2500 - $3000 and it soundslike you did that with Mark --is that possible? would you mind giving me more info-- what was included that sort of thing Thanks Laura

Glory, I was really interested in Mark Kauffman also. Do you know of anybody that has used him? I like the idea of the formal and photojournalistic shots too. Do you know what is price range is? Any info you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Mark Kauffman has photography services that you can pick and choose from, so the prices really range depending on what you want/need. That's what I really liked about him...I got to pick and choose to create a package, and I saw the price of EACH thing, so I got to spend more on what was important to me and skimp on the not-so important. ...like, I chose the 3x5 proofs that were cheaper, and I splurged on getting a higher skill level photographer. This way, I still worked within my budget. I just liked having that control in picking my photography...which I didn't find elsewhere. Plus, I got the photojournalist style that I wanted...their specialty for over ten years.

My room block is at the Marriott in Uniondale, the rate is $119 per night and I did not have to sign a contract guarantee.

Hi Lorraine,

I'm using John for my wedding. But, two of my cousins, who also used Glenmar, had a woman photographer whose name I can't remember, but I am pretty certain that she is the only woman photographer that works with their studio. Their pictures were beautiful and they both raved about how great she was to work with. You should ask to see some of her work.
