Hi Ladies: Remember my gown problem listed below. I'm going for a fitting tonight with my sister for her dress and I'm going to check on mine. I still have not received a call back with the confirmation and order numbers that they actually told me they would get me.

Is it appropriate to tip BEFORE? Do service people expect/prefer that?

I am a bit confused about tipping in general. It seems some of my vendors have gratuity included (Limo, waitstaff/bartenders). I guess I just have to tip the maitre d', bridal attendant, DJ. I assumed I didnt have to tip photographer & video since they are both the owners of their business.

Hi Kate. Oh Good Luck!!!. I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed Please let me know what happens even if you email me seperately. My bridesmaids are starting to go for fittings and I am getting nervous. Was it a good sign that when I went this weekend with one of Rob's sisters my gown was still on the rack??? Yes, this whole subject is annoying + confusing. If tips are "included" than why not simply add it on to the total price and give them a raise? The answer is, if they gave out those quotes when you were shopping arouind, than they would be giving a higher quote + you wouldn't hire them.

Yes, it makes sense to tip before hand, except if you don't tip enough or not at all) they might not do such a great job. If they are expecting a tip after they work, than naturally they will do a great job because they want you to notice + give them as much as they think they deserve.

Thanks Concetta: I called today and told them I was coming in and that I would like a sales receipt or am order number showing that they ordered my gown on Friday, or Thursday it was. Will see. I believe that they are jumping through hoops right now.

The church is beautiful...and Msgr Grace is witnessing our marriage. If you know him, you know he's a wonderful spiritual man with a very human approach (and a great sense of humor)!

Hi Concetta: My bridesmaids were fine, seamstresses are wonderful, as I always remembered. I wanted to get a number confirming my dress was ordered. I called ahead of time and they left a message on my machine that day saying they didn't have a slip from the manufacturer yet and when they did, they would mail me a copy. I plan on calling again next week for a better answer if nothing is in the mail. I still feel she is jumpimg through hoops right now,

Everybody, I am looking for information for favors. I would like to look into candles and I remember that at someone recomended a few websides and one was called Michaels but I can't find it. Any suggestions will be helpful!!

Kate, for what ever its worth - I wouldn't wait a week. Weeks can add up to months and after all you've been through, the response time should be faster. Esp. because it is being processed as a rush order.

The manufacturer should be able to fax a confirmation order w/ a delivery date to the bridal shop, and then the bridal shop can either fax it to you or you can pick it up.

When was your first post on this? Add on 1 week from THAT date.....I'm glad things are going well w/your bridesmaids but I don't think you should ease up on your dress until you have something in writing verifying your order. They have given you plenty of reason to question their abilities - its now their job to provide you with comfort.
