Re: Great 1st places to start dress shopping??????

I got my dress at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa, but I got my vail at Paradise Bridal in Patchogue. I loved Paradise Bridal. Ask for Ashley. She's awesome! She let me try on my sample dress twice, once when i bought my vail, and then again when I brought my aunt to show her the vail because she is buying it for me. She was so great!

Bridal reflections on the other hand...eeehhh.
I felt that the girl there was annoyed with me when I went to try my dress on because it came in. I hate how they come in the room with you to get dressed. My best friend was with me, and her sister is getting married next summer. She said to me 'maybe I'll call my sister to see if the bridesmaides dress is here that she likes. The girl helping us kind of barked back 'I CAN'T SHOW YOU ANY DRESSES WITHOUT THE BRIDES PERMISSION.!' So my friend snapped back 'She didn't buy it here!' I was kind of embarassed.

I second Lillette's in Baldwin. However, they are usually really crowded on Saturdays, so it is best to make an appointment. Good luck!

I went to Lillette's In Baldwin as well.
They were great to me. I worked with a
woman by the name of Gerri. She helped me
so much and was so nice.

Re: Great 1st places to start dress shopping??????

I went to Davids Bridal, Wedding Center in Commack, Flowerama in Elmont, and finally found the dress of my dreams in Bridal Reflections in Massapequa.

Re: Great 1st places to start dress shopping??????

I almost forgot -- Lidia's in Copiague... they were WONDERFUL there! Kleinfeld's you have to make an appt well in advance and you have to leave a deposit on your credit card -- just letting you know.

You can also try Princess Bridals in Farmingdale, but I only suggest them because they have a pretty good selection of gowns. I don't recommend you actually PURCHASE anything there because IMO, their service is crappy (to put it mildly) and their prices are even crappier. I've been in TWO weddings that we got our BM gowns there as well as several 'incidents' in shopping for my gown there, so I'm not talking outta my arse.

Good luck and have fun!!

Last but not least, the place I went to where I was treated best, believe it or not, was Bridal Reflections both in Carle Place and Massapequa.

I couldn't agree more! I had Candace in Carle Place and she was fantastic. They were all wonderful there though.

I also really like the Wedding Salon in Manhasset and Priscilla of Boston in Roslyn. They both made me feel very comfortable.

WOW! We had very similiar experiences I did not like Princess Bridals at all. The service was horrible, they were trying to pressure me into a dress that I didn't love. The place was not that nice, it was freezing, and there were some guys sitting right outside the dressing room. The curtains didn't close all the way & I felt very uncomfortable trying them on. They do have a decent selection though, but the prices weren't great.

Re: Great 1st places to start dress shopping??????

Bridal Suite of Bay Shore. Make an appt and they are there to serve you!

I went there twice to try on my dress (and ordered it there), twice for a dress for my mom (ordered it there) and for my BM's dresses (ordered them there). Can you tell we liked it there?

Every time we have been there, they have been incredibly helpful. They have a decent selection of dresses. By the time I went there, I pretty much had it narrowed down to a few dresses so I don't know exactly how much they have. They had my dress cheaper than anywhere else I saw it too.

Re: Great 1st places to start dress shopping??????

I reccommend lillettes, it may be crowded on the weekends but it is totally worth it. you have to make an appointment on the weekend. it is a very popular place and that is the reason why it is so crowded.
