Re: Greek Brides??

I had 100 guests at my engagement party and I had it at Chateau Briand. What about Swan Club, Caffe on the Green, San Souci?
ETA: I just saw that you are looking for something for 50 people. Chateau Briand has a restaurant called 'The Europa' We had the cocktail hour in that room and it is very accomodating for 50 people.

Re: Greek Brides??

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'm going to look into Mythos, I didn't realize that they had a private room. The one thing that I do like about Laterna & Zodiac (although too far for my family) is that they have live music, I wouldn't have to make any arrangements for entertainment.
I would love to have it at the Swan Club, but the only room that I like there is their larger one & I won't have enough people at the engagement party to fulfill their minimum.
I'll keep everyone updated on how my search is going, if anyone thinks of any other places, please let me know.

Since my wedding is more than a year away, I'm being premature in asking this - what are you girls doing with your bouquets after the wedding? Is anyone having theirs preserved?

I used Europa Sounds for my rehearsal party and they did a great job. I'll check to see if I still have their #.

Re: Greek Brides??

Everyone's coming to our house. Since there are 9 children under the age of ten in our family, we're doing an Easter egg hunt in our backyard, it's sooo much fun for the kids, I just wish I was a hunter instead of a hider

Re: Greek Brides??

Gals - i have a quick question -

When a baby is born - and you know you will eventually be baptizing the child - is it proper/appropriate to buy the baby a small icon? FH and i will be baptizing a soon to be born baby after we are married - however - FH just brought up buying the baby a cross and an icon when it is born. I know you dont buy the cross until the baby is baptized - but what about an icon? I thought that you could get an icon after the baby was baptized...I may be wrong - does anyone know?

Re: Greek Brides??

Georgia, I see nothing wrong with getting the baby an icon, but not the cross, you should definetly wait till the Christening. FH & I are baptising a baby together this upcoming June, when she was born in December we went to a Greek jewelry store & got her one of those pins that have charms hanging from it, we got a mati & a little gold icon w/diamonds in it, along with a few smaller things (an outfit, stuffed animal & a silver bank). Hope this helps...
