I ordered Checkerboard and loved them. Here is mine from the website and after we assembled them and tied pink ribbon around them.

Oh yeah, if you have the budget, use it. The invitation is the preview to the formality of the affair and if you are having a wedding at Oheka, you want people to know what that will be like.

We went with William Arthur invites:

The color Gold was incorporated throughout my wedding and I wanted a heavier cardstock than the standard invite.

I agree with some of the other posts...with a budget of $3500 for invitations you can basically can get whatever you want. Have them custom made.

Have you checked out Claudia Calhoun or Julie Holcomb- Julie can do claudia styles - Julie Holcomb does letterpress - you could get a chocolate brown lettering with hand edged gold foil (it is just a hint of color that is subtle but would be beautiful)

Check her out at Lion in the sun - ask Mary to bring out some samples that are NOT in the book that people have done.

Claudia Calhoun runs about 3-4K, Julie Holcomb ran me about 2k-2.5K They are printed on thick cardstock - the only other company that I found had thick paper like it was claudia calhoun - everyone else was rather thin quality. I can FM you my invite - but you won't get the real feel of it - mine was navy blue lettering with silver hand foiled edging it came out amazing I got a lot of compliments on them
