I am really new to the boards - got my dress and had a good experience but the posts do make me nervous. I will be shopping for my veil and headpiece soon any suggestions? Thanks.

Veils & tiaras..? ebay. Or you can search the boards.

I'm nervous about using ebay, I want to try it before buying but thanks for the suggestion. I am checking out the boards and I'm sure that will help. Some one suggested TriCounty so I think I'll see what they have.

I have to say that I too heard bad things, but I went to both the Massapequa as well as the Carle Place store (twice), and each time was wonderful! They were so patient and helpful. But maybe I was just lucky to work with nice people....

I had a great experience at both the Massapequa store as well as Carle Place - I ended up buying my gown @ the Carle Place location. -
I tried on, decided, left a deposit......and then called back like a month later in a panic that I chose the worng dress ! - The woman on the phone was so sweet to me and we set up an appt. for me to go back and try on AGAIN so I could be sure...........
Each time I have called they have been nothing but nice and always willing to help.
- I'm sorry you had such a bad expereince........but being 'obnoxious' as you put it will not get you anywhere with them ESPECIALLY being that your BMs don't have their gowns yet. - Bite your tounge and tyr to be as polite as possible. -

I got my dress at the BR in Carle Place and I've had no problems, my dress came in about a month before they thought it would so far they've been very helpful. (and I'm not spening a fortune on my dress, I actually got them to lower it b/c I said I saw it somewhere else cheaper and they did it, no problem)

One of the reasons I bought it there is b/c I've heard great things about the seamstresses.

Sorry to hear this...I've had nothing but a great experience there thus far. I dealt with Candice who helped me find my wedding dress.

They weren't snobby by any means there....b4 going there I went to Kleinfelds, Flowerama, and The Wedding Plaza...and out of all them Kleinfelds is #1 on my BAD NO NO list... What you're saying you had at BR I got that at Kleinfelds.

As far as why didn't they call you about when your dress came in...I was told upon ordering my dress...expect it to come in around so and so time. But don't call the front desk here, we won't have that information for you, and gave me a separate sheet of info. on who I should call. If it's in then I can call the front desk to make an apptmtn.

What I've learned from LIW is they have issues with alterations...I suggest you work with Lee...or so I've been told by the dozens of grls on this site....and I trust all of you soo...Lee it is.

I got my dress from Carle Place too and had a great experience and I am EXTREMELY picky. I would speak to Christina- I worked with her too and she was a big help. Also, I had Lee do my alterations and she was wonderful!
