I like #1 but I think that is a lot to spend on invitations...you may have a couple of people that keep it b/c it is nice, but overall people are probably just going to throw them out. So I voted for #5.

Hey! I was in the same predicament as you - I was looking for a fall themed invitation and the ones I really had liked were VERY expensive...and I did not want to spend that much on invitations.
So I searched a lot and decided to go with one that didn't scream fall but the colors did...cream and brown...

I chose a basic Encore that was had a classy border...and then added a cream vellum overlay -- and incorporated the brown (for fall) w/ the liner and I am going to tie them with brown organza ribbon. And brown lettering as well.

I ended up spending a lot less money than the invites I had originally looked at - and am very happy with what I chose.

I have a link I just posted recently w/ a picture.

I had liked #1..but saw that was WAY too much money.

thank you guys so much for all of your votes and advice, and to Jill for those awesome links... you rock!!! I am waiting for some more samples to come in, I am spending a small fortune just on some of these samples

Its so crazy to spend that amount, I wish I never got the sample for #1. gonnacatch... I am going to search for the link you put up, it sounds beautiful! thanks again guys!

$2,000 for invites? I'm sorry, but I couldn't justify that...IMO of course. at the end of the day, it's paper which will be thrown out.

my invitation looks like the last one. Everybody has told us how much they loved the invitation and how they never saw one like it before.
My sister designed it. They came out so pretty and different.
It is up to you but it is the first impression of the wedding.

I voted for #2, but love #1 as well. I too, save invites and love good paper as well. Its tough to REALLY get a feel for the invites on the internet.

why don't you do what I did?--I saw a William Arthur invitation that I loved-it had a satin ribbon so I ordered a plain invitation and bought double faced satin ribbon at M&J trimmings (check out their website) and tied it around the invitation. Tjis way my invites were $500 instead of $2,000

I cant really say if you should get the really $$$ ones or not. I personally wouldn't but if it's important to you and you have the budget go for it.

I just wanted to tell you about the girl doing my invites. She duplicated an invite I found on line to a T for less than 1/2 the price. They are pretty simple but I've seen some of her other work and it's beautiful. You may want to give her a shout. Maybe she can come up with something you'll really like for less $. It's worth a shot no?

I like #4 and #5.

#1 is nice, but I couldn't justfiy spending that much on invites. The ones I feel in love with were over 1K, and I couldn't even justfity that.

I found a graphic designer who is now a stay at home mom that does custom invites. Our invites are beautiful and no one else in the world will have them. We've picked out everthing from the paper, the print, the design, the wording, the font, and the envelopes.
