Hilton Garden Inn Melville (actually in Plainview)

I went on the search for hotel blocks today. I didn't even know about the Hilton Garden Inn until one of the sales reps from another hotel mentioned them. But I decided to take a look since I was in the area. So far I like what I saw, but the sales rep wasn't in to talk $$.

Does anyone have any information/reviews about them?? TIA

Re: Hilton Garden Inn Melville (actually in Plainview)

I stayed there two weeks ago as part of block and had no issues as a guest. The hotel was actually really nice and they kept the bar open late for us (they normally close at 2). Only thing is, I know that the rate they gave her was higher than the rate I found online, so Id try to make sure they adjust rates appropriately so that guests are not paying more than what you find online. I believe her block was 155 a night and I wound up paying 120.

Re: Hilton Garden Inn Melville (actually in Plainview)

We went there to look at rooms for our block. We ended up blocking at the Four Points across the street for two reasons:

1- Lower price per night - we were quoted $140 per night at the Hilton and $135 for the Four Points.

2- The bridal suite only had a shower stall, no tub, and FH LOVES to take baths.

There were a few other things too...including the shuttle, and bar/lounge restrictions. You can FM me if you want more info.

I have a two blocks for my OOT guests and also for guests who don't want to drive (b/c we are providing a shuttle). We're also having the after party there; they offer appaetizers to my guests in the bar when we come back. It was the nicest one we found.

Re: Hilton Garden Inn Melville (actually in Plainview)

I was able to negotiate the Four Points Sheraton down to $125/night for next June and got the Hilton Gardens down to $130/night in June.

I went there to look at room blocks, and also ended up booking the Four Points as well.

Re: Hilton Garden Inn Melville (actually in Plainview)

I have a room block there...I went to the Four points also and I was quoted the same price....There isn't a room for me to host a breakfast at the Garden Inn now though so I am a little annoyed with that......We are having our breakfast at the Huntington Hilton and they made it seem like it would have been cheaper to get rooms through them...so I would check them out. Good Luck

They didn't have a room available? or they just didn't have the room?? I could have sworn they told me they had a room.

The Huntington Hilton prices were almost exactly the same (the difference of $1) so maybe I'll lean towards that.

Re: Hilton Garden Inn Melville (actually in Plainview)

Sorry, they have rooms for breakfast, but when I went to get one, which was a little late - there were none left. But she never called me to ask and I told her that I was going to have a breakfast there....no biggie though - the Hilton down the road is just as fine. Good Luck with your plans.
