I also heard windex is no good... tints the diamond... I think rubbing alcohol is your best bet...

i use ammonia,warm water and a soft toothbrush. comes out great.

I've been going to a jewelry store and have them clean it for me. They do such a fabulous job. Guess i was a little afraid I would screw it up. But its great because they do it for free!
