Re: How formal does an engagement party have to be?

Mine was about 50 people (our immediate families) at a restaurant in Huntington. We had the 'back room' of the restaurant. We didn't have a DJ or music other than what the restaurant already had. We had favors and photo centerpieces, and a wedding-style cake. We got engaged on 12/24/09 and had our engagement party on 2/28/10. I wanted to have it sooner rather than later b/c I'm taking the bar exam this summer so I'll basically be *** from April through August.

Check out pics in my album!

Ours was really casual. We weren't even planning on having one. It was in the lounge area of the Avalon w/ about 40 ppl. Had catered food and lots of drinks!
