Okay - not to sound like a complete (well, guy) but what goes on a registry?

If we don't know if we're renting or buying a house/co-op just yet, how do you know what you need and what matches?

CLUELESS...

I can totally see the FI and I registering for things like Play Station, Golf Clubs, etc.

Well you know, usually the things that most couples register for is either china, or everyday dinnerware, kitchen electrics, bed and bath, etc etc. Since most couples live together these days, they usually wont register for much, and thats why you prob could throw in like gift certificates or travelers' checks...

Register for whatever you think you may need and the rest just request gift certificates that you could use later on.

It's true! You're laughing at me! LOL I can seriously see one of my aunts calling me saying 'um, there's a pair of manolo's on your registry - is that for you or Ricky?'

Thanks for all the advice - I feel a lot better now.

MY CATHOLIC parents don't understand the whole concept of living together B4 the marriage so I'll definitely have to consider china/flatware, etc that will go with anything!

we are registering prob late aug or early sept,. we are having a housewarming party and some people may buy us gifts from the registry

Same here! I only registered for the China and a few odds and ends. I'll probably go back in the Spring and finish it with bedding.

We started our registy already because my family was bugging me to do it but I've been there twice and I'm still not done. I'm finding that its very time consuming....

We must be twisted because we already registered!!!

We registered on Target, and since we both came from our own apartments, and now live together, there's a lot of things we don't need, so we just registered for the stuff we do need!!

PS Target actually has a lot of nicer stuff than I thought!!! They even have bridal sets!!
