Congratulations and welcome!

I have been engaged for almost 8 months and still have to ask my flower girls and one of my BM. Take your time and enjoy your new engagement. There's no rush and you don't want to regret this decision. The time will come to take care of everything else.

We actually had ours all planned out before hand so when I called them with the good news, I asked them to be my BM as well.

Me too. I've known who my MOH would be even before I met my FH. I got engaged and then called her. One of my BMs is in Africa, so I sent her an email right away (we had talked about it before she left) and I asked FH's sister a couple weeks later when I saw her in person.

I was so excited I called most of them the night we got engaged ....I should have waited and thought about one because she backed out on Christmas...but thats another story

I've been engaged for a little over a month. I haven't asked anyone formally but my sister-in-law (brother's wife) & I talk about it all the time.

Welcome & congrats!!! Take your time & make sure you aren't making any quick decisions on your BP...Don't let anyone make you think you need to ask right away...

I waited about 2 months until I started to ask...It really didn't have anything to do with making choices (I knew ahead of time who I wanted) but I wanted to do some planning & get a wedding date set prior to asking...

I did the same thing. My bp consists of my 3 sisters, bf, bf from college and FI's sister. There's no room for anyone else!

I was officially engaged a month ago, but FH and I have been together for 5 years.

My little sister is DEFINITELY my MOH,
FH's sister is a BM,
and my only other BM is my best friend since we're 4. She just broke off her engagement :sad:, but I was supposed to be one of her BMs too.

My FH already knows who his best man will be, my little bro will be a GM, and the other GM will most likely be either his college roomie OR his sister's husband. (I hope it's the college roomie!)

Our bridal party will be asked privately, probably after we choose a reception hall. I don't want to do it at our e-party, because I have a large family with MANY options for BMs, and I don't want anyone to be offended or upset at my party.

I waited about a month to ask but take as long as you need to figure it all out

Congratulations!
I asked my friends about 3 months after I was engaged, but asked my siblings right away.... There are a lot of things that will get you stresed out, don't let this be one of them.

Good luck in your planning , and use the boards as much as you can as they are really very helpful.

I knew right away who I wanted to have in my bridal party. I asked them about 3 weeks after I got engaged.

My one friend I asked within a week - cause I was so excited and really wanted her to be part of my wedding. Two of my other bridesmaids I asked about two month later. Obviously I am not the best planner!
