Re: How much are your budgeting/spending on your

I spent about $700 on my dress (it was a sample sale) and my whole total came to about $1400, including bra, underwear, slip, veil, alterations and shoes. My grandmother bought my headpiece for me.

Kathy-

That seems like a lot of alterations. I love Pucchi and I went to one of her showcases which were discounted 30% and I tried your dress on because I also fell in love with it. I thought it was like $5000? Where if you don't mind did you get yours?

Re: How much are your budgeting/spending on your

I had to change the top, drastically! I met with Rani (the designer), and we are adding like 3 yards of silk to the train, and we are also adding a ton of crystals to the dress. I know, it does seem like a lot in alterations, but it's like I added enough material for another dress. It's like custom making a new design of the dress I posted.

I was freaked at first, but oh well.

I bought the dress at Bridal Suite of Manhatten. I just called and it came in, I'm so excited!

Re: How much are your budgeting/spending on your

My budget was $2500 and the dress I ordered was marked $2900, but we got it down to $2520. Not much of a price cut, but it felt better.

Re: How much are your budgeting/spending on your

My dress was almost $2,000 and my veil and tiara came out to a little over $500.00. With tax, alterations, etc. I will be paying a little over $2,700.00.

Thank you ladies so much for sharing!!...I see that I have to shop around and prices vary greatly. How do I find out about these trunk shows and sample sales?

Re: How much are your budgeting/spending on your

I did alot of looking in magazines and the ones I liked were about $1000 or less. I really didn't mind having a 'knockoff' as long as it was made well and the seamstress was good at the salon. I found a Demetrios dress for less than $1000, I probably could have shopped around for a better price but I really liked the seamstress at the Macy's salon in Manhasset so I figured what the hell. With tax and alterations (if I get them done in Macy's) will be $1200.

Re: How much are your budgeting/spending on your

I budgeted about $1500 but I only spent $1000. With the purchase of my dress, I get free alternations, free headpiece and a figner tip veil and blusher.

Re: How much are your budgeting/spending on your

Dress, alterations, shoes, veil, tiara, jewelry etc - approx $1200

(My FMIL made my veil so that saved me a few hundred dollars and I got my tiara at Patchouge Floral - they have great prices!)
