How to AVOID Guests TAKING Centerpieces??
hi,You girls are awesome.
I want the kind of centerpiece that ends up sorta looking like a ball of flowers is hanging over each table.
I think I will have to rent that metal centerpiece??? My mother says that I have to work it into my budget b/c people will TRY TO TAKE them home. I understand guests taking home centerpieces, but will they try to take this one???
The hall has no incentive to prevent this from happening, b/c it is from an outside vendor.
Thanks,
Any ideas with that ball of flower ideas would be awesome too.

Im renting centerpieces also and was told to have the dj make an announcement that the centerpieces were not giveaways. They have a way with words, so they'll say something clever.

i woudl write a cute little poem to the effect that the cp's are not to be taken home buthow you have given favors for people to remember the day and then stick in underneath the cp so when someone picks it up, well there you go

THE POEMS ARE A CUTE IDEA! THANK YOU! HOWEVER, I HAVE TO GIVE BACK OUR STANDS TO THE FLORIST ALSO, AND WILL BE MAKING THE ANNOUNCEMENT MYSELF!

Can the guests take the flowers out of the centerpiece? If so, maybe have an announcement that people are welcome to take the flowers, but to leave the vase?

Re: How to AVOID Guests TAKING Centerpieces??
Normally the guests only take the flowers from the stand,,NEVER the stand..I would die if I saw my someone trying to walk out with my entire CP (stand included).

Me too. Two guests took the stands and the bride chased them down in the parking lot. they aalmost got in their car with them. These were huge stands and she would have had to pay
for them.

Ive also been to weddings where an announcement was made and some guests took the CP anyway, I dont think it was on purpose, but its likely that few guests wont hear the announcement.I wonder if the dish is leak proof so they can just take the flowers. I was going to buy my own vases instead of renting them so I could just let my guests take the CP.

Re: How to AVOID Guests TAKING Centerpieces??
We bought the vases, We are actually putting a sticker on the bottom of one chair at every table and the DJ will announce it, whoever is sitting in that seat with a sticker will take the CP

Re: How to AVOID Guests TAKING Centerpieces??
Try bolting them down to the tables
Or put some kind of sensor on them so that if someone touchs it they get a nice elecric shock...That'll teach them

So true! The tops of the high CP's come off, and the guests can take them. We're going to give it to the oldest couple at the table. I'm making a personal announcement b/c I seriously think people ignore the DJ.
