Hyatt Regency Wind Watch

I am having my wedding at Land's End and am looking for a hotel where I can block 20 or so rooms, that has a suite where I can get ready with my bridal party, and that also has a bar open late for an afterparty. The Hyatt Regency Wind Watch in Hauppauge seems to meet all of these needs but I have been reading some negative reviews lately where guests had trouble booking their reservations and that the wedding blocks got messed up. Has anyone used them recently or do you have any other recommendations in the area that would meet my needs? I also reached out to the Courtyard Marriott in Ronkonkoma but they said they did not have enough rooms to accommodate me.

we just went to a wedding that used the hyatt and had the same problems with booking and they said it wasn't worth the headache. however, it was very affordable and a very nice hotel. we had no issues with our stay at all.

We have been dealing with the Hyatt and have not had any problems. We did not book a block of rooms but instead used a different option which didn't make us responsible for paying for rooms, in case the guests decided not to make a reservation. It's a relatively new option.. you are given a special code to give to your guests and they receive a discount when they book. It takes the worry about the rooms and booking and let's the guest take care of it all themselves. Hope this info helps you!

Thank you! I was told that the Hyatt only did guaranteed room blocks. I will have to ask them about this new option.

Our friends had the code too. When my friend (a guest) called to book, they gave her the price. She said she would call back. She called back like a half hour later and was told there was no code for our friends and had never heard of the bride and groom. The groom had to email I guess the sales rep and forcefully say this is unacceptable. I don't know where the breakdown in communication was but apparently many guests had issues bc the groom was so frustrated. It's a shame because the hotel is beautiful !

Wow that definitely sounds like a major headache that I don't want to deal with! The hotel does look beautiful but the headaches make me nervous. Thanks for the info!

Hey! So I wanted to block rooms there, too. They were super nice and helpful! So far opposite of a headache. :)

HOWEVER you will be responsible for 80% of the rooms should they not all get booked, which is why we decided against it.

We decided to book a block of rooms at the Islandia Marriott. They seemed a lot more organized! They also have an 80% guarantee but since we knew we'd have at least 15 rooms being used we went with a 20 room guarantee.

We used the hyatt for our wedding in September and had no issues at all. We worked with Amanda Hernandez special events manager and she was very helpful and quick through email.
