Thank you so much for that advice. It's so easy to get caught up in the things that make you mad. I so appreciate the words of wisdom! Congrats to you!

DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF

I know, easier said than done. But guess what, the day of the wedding sh*t is going to happen. The sooner you can understand and accept that, the sooner you can sit back, relax and truly enjoy the greatest day of your life!!!

Let's see...
1-people WILL be late.

2-DELEGATE! If you do not have a DOC, delegate someone to be your buffer for the day. NOT someone in the BP (as I didn't see mine that much during the reception).

3-Go to the tables ASAP. DH and I started as the salad was being served. We wanted to get it out of the way so we could dance!

4-Cameras will be on you from ALL angles, video and still. SMILE! Even if you are filled with rage, smile! Our cake inside was wrong, and I found this out AS we were cutting it. All cameras were on us, I smiled the biggest smile and told out maitre 'd it was wrong. Now I can look back and laugh, knowing how I smiled thru it all!

5-People will not show. A friend actually sent me an email at 6:30am the day of my wedding telling me she couldn't come! I didn't get it till I was back from the HM.

6-Have Fun! Do what YOU and your DH want to do. You want certain pics, tell the photographer, Maitre'd, DOC, whoever. You want a certain drink, food, whatever, this is the day/time to get it. BE the Prince and Princess of the day!!!!!

7-Kids will be kids. Our FG did great in rehearsal, day of, didn't even make it past the vestibule. And my nephew, the RB did great, til he got up to the front, he smacked himself in the face w/ the pillow. Oh yeah, note: don't tie the real rings to the pillow. We didn't. You never know what could happen.

8-The reception FLIES BY! The whole day leading up to leaving the church to go to the reception, the day seemed to just tick by slowly. But the reception went SO fast! We walked in, danced, talked to people, danced, eat a little, danced, cut cake, the next thing I knew the night was over!

I took way too many wedding related things way to seriously before the wedding. I look back now and it was somewhat worth it, but still, wish I didn't worry about such little things.

The few days up to the wedding and the day of the wedding, some told me they were scared, b/c I was so calm. I am not sure how I remained so calm, but I think 1 thing that helped was constatly reminding myself to have fun, enjoy myself, and most importantly, knowing that things will happen that I will have NO control over, and accepting that.

On that note...all those left to be married, have fun. Because before you know it, the day will be over.

Great advice!!!!
