I feel your pain........It seems like you are telling my story too......I just really stay as far way as possible at all times. It's hard to deal with but I have come to realize that nothing I do is going to please her not matter how hard I try........so I know it sounds horrible but really........why even try!!!!

I am sorry for what you are going though but know that you are not alone by any means.....

What a nasty FMIL you have there. I feel for ya girl - it s*cks when people, esp FH's Family, can't be happy for you at this awesome time in your life; it's only cause they are miserable - Don't let her get you down. So sorry that you are dealing with this!

She is a miserable woman and that is that. What does FH say about this? It's hard to ignore wha people say about wedding details since they are so important but it seems to me she just wants to be down right mean so try not to let her rain on your parade. Someone needs to have a long chat with her and put her in her place!!

Oh my God, what a horrible woman.

You have to be strong and make sure FH is strong against her as well. If she brings up about putting extra guests on the list tell her that the money that you, FH and your parents have allocated for the receiption has reached its limit. Neither of you can afford to put in more money for more guests, that is unless she wants to give you money. If she says yeah sure make sure you have the money in hand prior to sending out extra invitations.

And with regards to ruining Thanksgiving, how are you doing that???? Its the day after. Don't pay attention to her she's probably pissed that someone has won her baby boy's heart.

I totally feel your pain!!!!! FMILs can be horrible! But at the end of the day, it's your wedding and if they are not helping you pay for it then they don't have a right to give you a big guest list! She sounds like she's the type of person that you can't even talk to, so I don't know what advise to give you about that! All I can say is once you are married you have every right to open your mouth to her... you will be starting your own family and she needs to mind her own!

My advice...


Get a bowl, fill it with water, let it sit outside for 1 day, say a prayer over the bowl, and then you see her next throw the water on her......If she screams then you know she's the devil

Just ignore her, this is your wedding and her son is going to marry you. She will have to atleast ack it sometime. I'm sorry

yikes!!! Sounds like she was spawn from the same seed as my friend's MIL...a woman who walked her daughter down the aisle wearing pants....socks with sandals & a shirt...after not letting her Ex walk the bride down the aisle...oh and the whole time wearing this sour puss...i swear i wanted to beat her!!! I don't think you can chang her. The only thing you cvan do is to try not to let it get to you. If she wants to sh*t on everything, why include her? DOn't tell her about anything you pick our or plan, and tell your sister and mom to do the same.
