I am also not speaking to MOH...its so funny how weddings bring out the worst in people...whats even funnier is that she ran off and got married a few months after me and is currently pregnant...I could care less for envious people.
Sorry to hear this. Your absolutely right. My so called friend flat out told me she didn't want our friendship to be based on the next exciting event going on in my life. - Whats really horrible is that she told this to me on Christmas Eve right after I shared the news about me being pregnant.
No loss here. Sometimes it takes instances like this to realize you are better off without certain people. Too bad she wont have your beautiful son in her life. Her loss.
Steer clear of toxic people!
Best of luck to you!

Re: I think the one thread that we're missing is...
We moved into our coop a month before the wedding. my husband opened up his own business in august of 06,we also went to the dominican republic in august with our bestfriends, we got a kitty in december of 06. then my best friend got prego in the beginning of 07 and i became an aunty in october.my husbands business is finally taking off. and we are paying our bills off this year and im trying NOT to get prego this year.
i also am not talking to on of my bms anymore almost two months after my wedding she tells me and my other friend we had nothing in common and that was it. whatever she was right neither of us were getting anything out of the relationship anyway. i dont have to tiptoe my feelings about anything or anyone anymore.

Re: I think the one thread that we're missing is...
Let's see we started house hunting in the Fall of 2006 (a few months after our wedding) and closed on our home in December of 2006. Fortunately it didn't need any major work, just a paint job. So we moved in on January 5, 2007 and we've officially been living there for a whole year now!!
Here's a pic from the day we moved in.Then we decided that since we now have a yard we wanted a puppy. We adopted a black lab mix on February 11, 2007 and named her Kasey. She's a real PITA sometimes but we love her anyway. Here's a pic from her then:
For those of you who remember Kevin's daughter, she's now 10 and in 5th grade. Here's a pic from her birthday party at our house:
In late March I was rear-ended while on my way to work and unfortunately the car was totalled. So I bought a 2006 Jeep Liberty in Atlantic Blue Pearl, everyone loves the color!!
Finally the day we'd all been waiting for, taking down those horrible trees in our front yard!!! Then we moved the bushes over to the side and planted some flowers. We got an American flag and put up navy blue shutters. The crowing touch was putting up our front railing, this is what our house looks like now except the grass has actually grown in better.
The second half of 2007 was pretty mild with minor house projects and enjoying our pool in the backyard. In September Kevin became whole again when he finally got a new drum kit, I'm his groupie!! He's also started to teach his daughter how to play, life is never quiet with 2 drummers and a dog in the house!!
This was our Christmas card pic, we're a cute little family!!
Unfortunately the year ended on a sour note as my Grandpa was in the hospital for 2 weeks with pneumonia, and he's been in a nursing home for another 2 weeks and counting. New Year's Day marked his 86th birthday, but his Alzheimers prevents him from really understanding what's been going on.
For 2008, I'm looking to leave my current job and find something that I both really enjoy and pays well (Good luck Cin). We'd like to have our 3-season room finished and make it into a dining room. Hopefully by the end of the year we'll start TTC as we both have baby fever pretty bad!!

Re: I think the one thread that we're missing is...
Well, after our December 3rd Wedding, We are still doing Consturction on our house! We are replacing all the Windows and Insulation and also the Sheetrock. and in addition to that, we are moving our Kitchen to our Living Room and our Living room to our Dinning Room and our Dinning room to our Kitchen. Its like all three of the rooms are taking one quarter turn. The only room that isn't changing is our Den. Whew!
Once, we finish the rooms....We move to the Bathrooms. Yikes!
It will be almost a brand new house.
Can't wait to have our house finished!
We went on a cruise for our 1st Anniversary to the Mexican Ri vera. We had a ball! It was a well deserved vacation from all the construction we have been doing.

OMG, I'm so happy to find so many updates. I was wondering about all of you. I've been MIA for a long time. However, I didn't forget about any of you.
Update on us:
2007 was a roller coaster ride. I'm not sure if any of you remember, but my husband's daughter was not at our wedding because his ex had moved and refused to tell us where she was. He didn't see his daughter for over a year. We finally found her after the wedding. Long story short, after thousands of dollars and court dates, we finally have visitation and now she lives in Virginia, which makes it impossible for us to see her as much as we'd like. However, we did have her for Christmas of '07 which was a very emotional and happy time for us.
No new kids. Not planning on it either.
New apartment, no house yet. We have to start saving again. Our legal fees took up all our savings.
Our sons are doing great. The two oldest got into their first choice of H.S. The little one is in J.H.S. and every day they're making us feel older and older.
They even have cell phones now.
Even with all the craziness we were able to go to Punta Cana, DR for our one year anniversary and we had a fabulous time. We are more in love than ever. We've had our ups and downs, but I absolutely adore him and I know in my heart and soul that he is my forever.
Ladies, I'm so happy to see so many of you doing so well. It warms my heart. Sylvia, I can't believe you had a baby. God bless him he's so cute!!!
I wish you all continued happiness and much more joy and love.

Re: I think the one thread that we're missing is...
Well, lets see...We had bought our house 7 months before the wedding, so we have done a lot of projects to really make it 'ours'Old look of house
New Look
This year the BIG project was making our backyard enjoyable. The old owners were disgusting & let everything overgrow. The first year in the house we just cleaned it up & made it something we could stand.
Last year look
New look as of 07
I went through a difficult point in May 07 when I realized my parents were putting my childhood house on the market. They got very fortunate & were able to sell it before the housing market plummetted. It took awhile to get use to them being 400 miles away but in the long run it has been great. DH & I have been doing more & more together & truly feel our relationship is better then we could ever expect it to be.
Now we are TTC & hoping to have a blessed 08! Only time will tell though & that has me very excited with anticipation.
We feel this is the next addition & chapter in our lives to make us a family.Just recently DH made an investment in some restaurants in NYC, so we are waiting for that to take off. We are hoping to set up the future so that when we do have kids, I can be a SAHM
I still can't believe we are 11 weeks away from our 2nd anniversary! It seems so surreal!!!

Re: I think the one thread that we're missing is...
Life
In May of 2007 we took a huge step and moved to South Florida! We absolutely love it here, our apartment is much bigger and much cheaper, DH has a better job and I love my job as well. I miss my family, but his entire family is here so we get to spend time with his bro & wife, all the cousin's who are our age and all their little babies.
Babies
My two best friends back in NY became pregnant the month we moved to FL. They each had a baby boy in December (one born on Christmas Day!) and we got to see them while we were home in NY for the holidays. We hope to add a little one to our family in the near future and also to buy a house in this summer when our apt lease is up.
Travel
We are going to Disney in February, we have a cruise planned for March to the caribbean with family and hope to go somewhere great for our 2nd anniversary in June.

Re: I think the one thread that we're missing is...
Wow I really feel like I should have bought a house! We have had an awesome time post-wedding basically enjoying being married! In July of '07 I received a promotion and now have a much more stressful job, although it is leaps and bounds better than the old one!
The latest and greatest news and I can't believe I am outting myself here is that I am going to be 13 weeks pregnant this Friday. DH and I are SOO happy and excited. The baby is due in July.

Re: I think the one thread that we're missing is...
Wow, I am so happy to hear how well everyone is doing! In March of 07 DH got a new job in CT and made the move here on his own, while I stayed back in NJ until the end of June to finish my commitments with my job. We had a long distance relationship (once again!) basically seeing each other on the weekends. For the last six months, I've been working from home (in CT) for my old company, but finally I have said goodbye to them at the end of December! (If anyone remembers, I absolutely loathed my job).
I have also started my own small side business, and that is starting to take off a bit, but am still looking for a regular job here in CT. In the meantime, we are loving the new area where we live and are searching for a house and may actually be making an offer on one soon.
We went on a cruise in May to the Bahamas, to Newport, RI in June, Sodus Bay in July, and for DH's 30th birthday in December I surprised him with a trip to Italy (we just got back!). We are going to Disney this May as well. We have been trying to get lots of travelling in before **hopefully** we are blessed with a

Re: I think the one thread that we're missing is...
Well, my husband and i have been so busy since the wedding trying to finish the
we just built. My FIL and husband did all the work. But we moved in a week before christmas even though there was TONS to do. I think we finally finished in september.
September we starting trying
. And in October (the month we got married) we conceived.
So i'm 14 weeks along and i'm due july 10th.
We're both very excited, but it still feels surreal. And i think thats it. We're going to florida in march for 5 nights and then to Arizona for 5 nights in April. That will be it on the vacations for a while though.

most boring bride of 2006.
It has not been an easy time. The man/DH was diagnosed with a pretty serious illness and that was the reality that we lived with for a good amount of our first year of marriage. But somehow, somehow, we learned over the summer that the doctors were WRONG and we're pretty happy about that.
We live outside of the city in the same place. We've been travelling. I'm writing, he's officially a lawyer as of 1/30...God, we are the boringest
