I really don't like wearing stockings with open toe shoes but with everything that we are wearing under our dresses and when one starts dancing....doesn't it get too hot? I saw a post long time ago about stockings that don't include the feet part...where can I get those? Any other suggestions?

There's a brand called SPANX that makes them in different lengths. You can buy just a bike short kind of length or calf length. They sell them at Lord and Taylor and I think there's a website as well.

I also don't like wearing stockings with open toes shoes....actually have never worn them but wearing all that crinoline and all of that stuff really made me think about when you start dancing and all that crinoline against the skin......I like the idea of those that go calf length. Thanks so much to everyone for posting these suggestions. I'd check all the places you all mentioned.

I also hate stockings and will not be wearing them. You can get footless stockings from Victoria's Secret.

This Spanex thing confuses me. Would you just use it because it is slimming or to make your legs look better? I always figured wearing panty hose was mainly to make your legs look nice and smooth, but if that's the purpose I think wearing a pair that ends at your ankles defeats it. I like the toe-less ones, though!

I got great legs....
No need to make them look any nicer or slimmer.....just kidding....
Actually, the reason why I wanted to wear the one that ends at the calf is because I didn't like the feel of all that crinoline against my skin when I went to my first fitting....so I guess I'm trying to put a barrier between my skin and that......

I wore open toed shoes for the ceremony and our first dance with Thigh highs....Boy was I hot!! I totally forgot to go change into my sneakers....and I was still hot after that!

I should have taken the slip off too!

I wore open toe shoes and no stockings. They are totally not necessary, esp. if you have a full dress.

I wore spanx for New Years Eve once...I thought they were so uncomfortable...they really suck you in and it made me uncomfortable the whole night. I can only imagine what they would feel like in the summer. I bought them at Saks Fifth Avenue though

I hate stockings and plus it will be hot. I purchased open toe shoes just for this reasons.

I am wearing open toe shoes just so that I do not have to wear any stockings!!!!!

I have seen the open toe stockings and I think that they have them in the pantyhose outlet stores in Rivherhead.

Stockings make my thighs look like sausages and just thinking about pantyhose gives me the willies. I will have a nice tan for my wedding (salon & spray tan) so there will be no need.
