Re: If you could ask a newlywed ONE question....

oh and my biggest peice of advice and one of the best things i did during wedding planning was ignore the whiners. people complained to us that it was weird or unconventional that DH and I were doing pictures pre-ceremony and having a nighttime ceremony. but one of the biggest things i've heard since the wedding is how grateful people were that there really was no gap and how different and unique a nighttime church ceremony was. so my advice is ignore the people who just dont get it, because chances are it'll work out just great at the end.

What was your % of no's ... I have a list of 215 (includes kids) with 80 OOT folks. I REALLY want max 150, I think that 30%. is that possible at all or am I dreaming.

30% is a little high. Our numbers were very similar to yours.

We invited 235 and guaranteed a minimum of 150 people. We had about 80 OOT (Ireland/England) guests but we knew most were coming. Our final number was 186. That was about 20%.

***What did you procrastinate the most with and did it cause you any problems?***

According to this website, I procrastinated on everything! lol! I booked my venue/photographer exactly 1 year out which would probably cause most of the brides on here to break out in hives. I bought my dress at 9 months out. I booked my florist at 4 months out. I booked my make-up the month of the wedding. I booked our hotel the WEEK of the wedding. Funny enough, it caused NO problems at all. I had not a single issue with any vendor.

ETA: I think it all has to do with YOU and how YOU react. Sure you might have your heart set on a vendor and they are booked but it's not the end of the world. You'll certainly be able to find another vendor who will do just as well, maybe even better. I just think it's what you make it- if you think something pertaining to your wedding is going to be the end of the world, then it probably is. Just take things in stride! But that being said, there were no vendors that were unavailable on my day that I had hoped to book. But if they were, I would've pouted about it for a minute and moved on.

what's the one moment you wish you could relive? or that you wish you valued a bit more at the time?

I wish I could relive the dance with my daddy again. It was very important to me being his little girl and only child. He waiting his whole life for this moment.
