UGH!!! HE'LL COME AROUND ONE DAY!!! MY FH IS WRAPPED AROUND HIS PARENTS ALSO, ANS IT DRIVES ME CRAZZZZZYYYY!!!
PART OF MY PROB IS HIM THOUGH....HE ALWAYS HAS TO CALL HIS PARENTS FOR APPROVAL ON EVERYTHING AND TELL THEM EVERYTHING TOO.....HIS BILLS, OR WHAT HES DOING OR HOW IT TURNED OUT AND NOT ONLY DOES HE TELL HIS DAD, BUT THEN HIS MOM HAS TO GET ON AND I HAVE TO HEAR HIM TELL WHATEVER IT IS ALL OVER AGAIN!!!!

I DONT KNOW WHAT IM GONNA DO ONCE WE'RE MARRIED, BUT THEY ARE NOT GONNA KNOW ALL OF MY BUSINESS.....THATS FOR SURE!!!

IM SORRY!!!!

i totally commiserate with that~ one of the quirky things w/ fh tho is he never talks to his dad directly on the phone, everything goes thru the mom. it's not until they see each other in person and then ffil will sit fh down and give him the father to son talk which can last for hours. it's a lot of u have to do this, u gotta do that u shouldn't do this... omg i mean my parents sometimes do that but i make a stand, they stop and live with my decision. ugh... i think unwittingly unplugging the phone cord is a good idea. what does ur fh say when you tell him it bugs you? i find that alot of guys who are really sweethearts are also momma boys... dunno if that's a good or bad thing

OMG, I DEF PICK MY BATTLES ON TELLING HIM WHAT BUGS ME, BC HE REALLY WORSHIPS HIS PARENTS AND IM NOT SAYING THAT ITS BAD, BUT SOMETIMES ITS LIKE COME ON!!!!

what do you do when your fmil and ffil :

1) have obvious problems of letting go of fh
2) can't distinguish the diff between what's regular wedding tradition (not seeing the groom night before wedding) and religion
3) insists on making life difficult by making crazy demands, refuses to pay for any part of the wedding and goes

AND

4) questions fh as to why he wants to get married?

I am sorry. I know how you feel. I have simialr problems with my FMIL. I have known them for years (since I was born) and they love me, but they also like have control over FH. And FH is such a softy. It is so frustating sometimes - I hate the guilt trips!!!

Re: IL question....

Me? Personally?

I would ignore their negativity and subconscious warfare, thereby reminding FH how truly AWESOME I am and demonstrating daily WHY he wants to marry ME.

Re: IL question....

Wow what a horrible situation to be going through. . I agree with one of the posters...even tho its hard..ignore what they have to say. People seem to forget that its NOT about THEM..its about you and your FH's happiness..everyone always has to put their negative opinion into things. IGNORE!! and do whatever you two are happy about doing. They will eventually get over it.

fh saw this post on my computer!!!

so..... i left the computer on and fh saw the post.... got really angry at first and stormed off, couldn't fathom why i'd share all this w/ strangers...

we were both edgy the whole day and the funny thing is later at night, we had a heart to heart talk - came to terms with the majority of issues but somehow a few of the things that fh presented first time around like his parents hung up on the budget seemed a bit different the second time around...

i guess we'll see what happens.. will update!!! please pray and thank you gals so much for all the support.
