sorry it took so long to reply things here have been crazy. Thanks so much for all the well wishes. Im trying to figure out how to post the pics(I cant make them small enough). Im so excited to be married and I think Paul is worse then me. He has become so mushy and constantly finds a way to work the husband or wife word into a conversation The trip was great! We landed and were in and out of the airport in 10minutes no joke on a shuttle to the hotel. We got to Treasure Island about 3hours before checkin so we checked our bags at the hotel and explored for alittle bit. We did sign up for two of the timeshare tours only to get free show tickets and the first one was a joke but the second one was painless. We saw BlueMan Group, Splash and Mystere will we were there. We managed to see practicly ever hotel will we were in Vegas. Breakfast we ate in the buffet in the hotel which wasnt bad at all and only $25 for the both of us. Lunch we ate were ever we were or just held out until dinner. We had reservations for a different restaurant in a different hotel for every night we were there but after the second night of not really enjoying the food we gave up and just ate anywhere. We were so busy with finalizing the wedding plans and site seeing at other hotels we never once managed to go to the pool. We did see the Secret Gardens at the Mirage which I guess was nice but really not worth the money(not that it was extremely expensive, just there isnt much there). We gambled about $60 in the slot machines between us but we racked up enough players points to win two free t-shirts Now the wedding stuff
The trip to the clerks office downtown was definetly an experience but the people were very friendly. The neighborhood however was like walking around the bowery. We stayed after to see the hotels at freemont and the light show(this was neat)everything was old, dirty and smelled of urine including the panhandlers laying on the ground. The show girls had costumes on that were filthy and didnt fit very well and some of the girls were missing teeth, no joke...Very glad to get back to the strip. Paul used After Hours tuxedos in Massapequa to order his tux and have it picked up in Vegas. No problems with them at all and the tux looked great, however the store in Vegas is very inconvient to get to. I bought my gown from the Bridal Shop in mamanroneck online and Paul went to pick it up. Pam was great to work with and the gown was beautiful, only problem was that the little hook on the top of the gown that keeps the zipper from going down, well part of it was missing and Paul had to safety pin the dress for me and we put a broach over it, no biggy. I didnt have time to have it altered so the top was alittle too big(measurements in description slightly off)again no biggy. Paul rented a limo from Ambassodor limo the day of with help from the bell desk at the hotel and they were great. We got married at the Flamingo Hotel and will the hotel itself was old and not really kept up the grounds were beautiful with the flowers, the waterfalls and all the different statues and fountains. They also had penquins, flamingos, turtles and other birds there. The minister was very nice and had a great sense of humor, the attendant was great she took pictures through the entire service with my camera for me, the guy playing the music was great, they were just alot of fun and kept the day stress free. The service was simple but very nice and we got married in front of a waterfall. I did feel like the minister kinda rushed it though because he had another wedding after ours. It was weird seeing people gather to watch and cheer after we were done but it was actually nicer then having his family there We took a cab from the Flamingo to the Venetian and took a gondola ride inside which was great too. The couple in front of us on line actually switched tickets with us because they paid for a private ride and though we should take it The guy steering the gondola was hilarious and made everyone along the canal clap for us the whole ride. From there we went to Postrio for dinner which we didnt realize they change the menu everyday until we got there so everything we saw online wasnt on the menu and it wasnt really food Paul and I would eat but it wasnt bad. Our waiter though was spending more time looking at himself in the mirror then taking care of us and got annoyed when we didnt want to buy a bottle of wine for $80. From there we went back to Treasure Island were we had a suite and changed into Just Married T-shirts we bought at the Flamingo(Corny but great)we had plans on seeing Splash that night but missed the last show so we again just walked around and when we got back to the hotel they sent up a complimentry bottle of champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries, my favorite. The best part was the hotel kept messing up and sending up bottles of champagne the whole time we were there even though we told them we had it already. Then my brother which shocked us sent us a bottle of good champagne and more strawberries. We did have to switch rooms when we first got there because they didnt have the room we reserved and gave us another suite with a view of the freeway(yuck)the next day though we had a better room with a view of the pool and the part of the strip. I had my hair done in the salon in the hotel and the girl did a great job. Anyhow, that's it for now sorry so long. I'll post pics once I can fig. out how. Thanks again for the well wishes
