Is 7:30 Cocktail Hour too late?

Here is my dilemma... do we have a 7:30 cocktail hour in a beautiful room, or a 6:30 cocktail hour that is much smaller (but still fits the number of people we are having)? I'm so confused!

Re: Is 7:30 Cocktail Hour too late?

It is a SUnday of a holiday weekend, where 99 percent of our guests would have off the next day.

No, it's not too late.

Ours was at 8 and we had no issues or complaints.

Re: Is 7:30 Cocktail Hour too late?

I don't think 7:30 is too late. My friend got married on Sunday, no holiday the next day, and the ceremony was 6:45, CH 7:30 and reception 8:30-12:30.

I say as long as people do not have to get up for work, then it should be fine. Even if your cocktail hour runs into an hour & a half & you start your reception at 9 it would be over by 1 for a regular reception, and 2 if you have the viennesse hour

I don't think it's too late at all. I'd get the bigger room.

Re: Is 7:30 Cocktail Hour too late?

Hey.. You are my Wedding-Date twin.!.

I am having my cocktail hour at 8:00pm. I don't think its too late, I think it'll work out great.

My ceremony starts 7:30pm, than 8:00pm is cocktail and 9:00pm is reception.

I am sure it'll be fun, and we'll party all night!

I say the 7:30pm start is fine. What time is the ceremony and far is it from the reception?

I don't think it's too late.
As long as people don't have to go to work the next day, it's like a Sat night

Re: Is 7:30 Cocktail Hour too late?

Im on a Fri nite and it starts at 8pm.
It works! I would stay for the larger room so noone is cramped and has a place to sit.

Re: Is 7:30 Cocktail Hour too late?

Our CH is at 7pm and we thought it was late. We're realizing it's not. I wouldn't worry about it. It's a holiday weekend so you'll be fine. If it wasn't then I would be concerned.
