Re: Is anyone tanning for the big day?

I am also pretty pale and I am going to get an airbrush tan. I am like an expert on this stuff because in the summer I used to go spray tanning(mystic tan)all the time. Mystic tan is really good for a nigiht out, but is not always totally even(although it is more even than most tanners) so I wouldnt do that for my wedding.
But then I had an airbrush tan done, which is more expensive and can rub off the first day. BUT as soon as you shower off the initial tan, it will not rub off at all on any subsequent days. And it looks really natural. I will definately be airbrush tanning 2 days or the day before my wedding. You should do a trial on it and try it out--after the first shower it is really like a true tan. I was so happy with the results and Im not a person who feels the need to be tan so I wouldnt use it unless I thought it looked totally natural and wouldnt rub off. You should test it out!

Re: Is anyone tanning for the big day?

FH and I are both going to tan. Not really for the color but to expose us to sun before our HM. I don't want to spend the whole time with a sun burn.

I will be tanning, but not too much. My wedding will be in May and I don't want to be way darker than everyone.... I just want to tan a little to soften by skin and give me a light glow.... if that makes sense...LOL

this is my plan as well....

Re: Is anyone tanning for the big day?

I went tanning for the first time for my MOH wedding, I was her MOH. I am VERY pale and FH is Indian so he's dark...here's what I learned if I ever do it again.

First, don't go to Beach Bum - I went to a salon in Bayside at Bell and Northern-it's on the upper floor across from Slate (I forget the name) and they are great guides and know their stuff (well, one girl knows more). My friend who took me there said all her friends in Melba in Brooklyn will only go there and they tan all the time.

I started on a low lamp bed and found myself getting red and a little burnt and was about to give up. Then I found out about a bed that designed for people who burn easy and those looking to get dark. It's quartz lamps and one sided (and HOT) but I didn't burn and got color quickly-if I ever go again I'm using this bed only!!

The only problem was that I never got the time to even out my face/chin and my makeup looked a little off bc my face was a little darker than the rest of me.

Another tip- the point of salon tanning is to NOT burn-they were concerned when my friend and I showed them any area that was starting to burn. Honestly, while tanning in general isn't safe, salon tanning is controlled and mostly the safer UV rays. It's better than the sun! I think I'll go naturally pale for my wedding-I'd rather be pale with even makeup any day!!

Be careful girls! (and sorry it's so long!)
