Re: Italian Brides- First Dance

Thanks. Yeah..I posted that other one..cause I just remembered that I have to meet with my band soon and have no clue what song to dance to with my father. He would totally appreciate an Italian song...

At first I thought Kazaa was an Italian song..

Re: Italian Brides- First Dance

We are doing two songs as well...my FI and I are both first generation italians so we wanted to do one in italian (probably Ti Sposero Perche---I LOVE THAT SONG) and I have no idea what the second song will be (but it will def. be in english).
My first dance with my dad is going to be a song in english---I wanted to do an italian song but I'm actually going to be singing it (its being prerecorded) and I don't want to slaughter the italian.
Teresa-we are using Mirage. I heard ADA was really great, my friend went to a wedding they played at a few months ago and loved them!

I used ADA and they did a GREAT job. They did an awesome job in both English and in Italian. The dance floor was packed all night long!!!!

BTW---Like I posted earlier my Dad and I danced to Lauretta and I was HYSTERICAL through the whole song!!

Re: Italian Brides- First Dance

TONIA - I've been trying to find someone else who is using Mirage. I am using them too.. They were the only band I heard and went with them right away...I liked them a lot, but they are giving me a hard time about meeting with them again..My wedding is 9/25/04..They just keep telling me to email them with the four main songs of the night (2 bride/groom songs, f/d song, and m/s song). How has your experience been?

Teresa - thanks for the info..my friend has been trying to find a band that sings spanish music..(her FI is Puerto Rican)..Can you FM me more info? Do they sing American as well, how many pieces, prices..Thanks so much!

Re: Italian Brides- First Dance

We had a great deal of Italian music as I am first generation Italian-American and we had alot of relatives from overseas. I mentioned my first dance songs before but wanted to add Piccolo Fiore is a great father daughter song. I had the band play it and I danced with my dad to it, but for our father daughter dance we did Unforgettable since I always used to sing that when I was growing up. I was hysterical!

I love Vivo per Lei. Another great one that is half and half is The Prayer. Our band did that one right at the end of the main course and an attention getter before we went back into dancing. They got a standing ovation they were so good! We used Paris if anyone is still looking for a band.

Re: Italian Brides- First Dance

THat gets me thinking....

can someone FM me or post a song that's Italian that might be good for dancing with my Mother? I am trying to avoid 'wind beneath my wings' and my Italian family would love it...as well as my mother obviously! They all speak italian, so it would be special.

Thanks!

Re: Italian Brides- First Dance

My FH is first generation Italian so we are dancing our first song to The Prayer by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion. We thought it was a nice mix of both.
