Re: Italian Restaurant - Suffolk

My favs are:

Jonina in Huntington (great atmosphere and menu!)

Pasta Pasta in Port Jeff - no contest! excellent!

Tu Tu Pazzo in Huntington (might have spelled wrong) but great food and atmosphere!

Setauket Pasteria in Setauket- same as the medford Pasteria mentioned in another post

Venitizia in St. James- great food

Lupa in Manhattan- 4 STARS!

Stellas in Floral Park- grew up going there and cannot say enough about the place

Sundried Tomato in Nesconset- my hometown place to go- more like a pizzaria atmosphere but the food and prices are incredible

Villa Sorento in St. James- awesome!

Meninos in Commack- Faboulous!

Marios in Setauket- great and my DH and I have run into a few famous hockey players there- not that I care but he does!

Red dish in Commack- I think it's considered italian- more modern italian perhaps? excellent martini bar, great atmosphere and the food is ...WOW!

Wow! I am hungry! Can you tell?
Have fun!

Happy Birthday!!!!!!
Lora

I like Carrabas, but if you're looking for good, homemade tasting italian food, it's not for you. It's along the lines of Olive Garden, better, but still not great. There are so so many great italian restaurants around here, that I only go to Carrabbas when I'm out of state.

I do however agree about Ciao Baby! Yum!!

Re: Italian Restaurant - Suffolk

Tedesco's is very very good, though it's not very well known. They were written up in a newspaper as 'one of Long Island's best kept secrets.' It's in the East Islip area.
