there is no real meaning behind it.. We thought it was very cool and different

The language on the ketubah is nice, non-misogynistic as opposed to more traditonal ones.. this is def more reform. We are culteral jews as opposed to religious.

Got it in the mail-- it is real simple, not overwhelming at all-- it will be hard for people to see when presented in the ceremony- but, we are getting it to hang on the wall, ya know?

Again, little plug for my vendor, Stephanie Caplan, at www.theketubah.com. She has a studio in the East Village where you can see them firsthand as well. Note, this is an expensive option is you go for a custom choice but she does have some (also fabulous) ready mades. If you look at one of the earlier posts in my thread, you will see a sketch of our ketubah. How modern it appears is often related to framing it. We had it framed with a simple wide platinum border (also not inexpensive, to be fair) but it serves as our headboard in a very modern architecturally designed room.

i saw mine on jessyjudiaca.com, its nova shoham- the vine. in my opinion, this is the best website for ketubahs - pricewise, syle, and variety of different texts.

We bought ours from yussels place in merrick also. It is called New Gold Rings. We looked for awhile before we found one we loved.

As ours is being provided free of charge from our Rabbi (our gift from our congregation) I haven't seen it yet but I'm sure it will be beautiful.
