Since I messed up anyway, let me tell you all my ordeal. I fall in LOVE w/anyone's pics from JoVon photography, of course I paid Cassarino $500 deposit already and have a GREAT package.

Question: Do I go see JoVon, and if I like them (assuming they are even available w/such short notice) do I forfeit my $500?
I dont think the deposit was refundable, and I reserved one of their top guys. UGH

You will definitely lose your deposit. I oroginally booked photo and video with them and decided I was unhappy with the video. I figured they could apply the $500 video deposit to the photos. They told me themselves that the video is not arranged until a few weeks prior to the wedding so what difference would it make. I also have one of the larger packages and a 2nd photojournalist photographer but it didn't make a difference. I gave up and let them have the money. I went with Wild Rose, I think I'll be happier in the long run. If you really love Jovon, just go with them. I debated this so much myself and I realized that its a small amount of money considering what you're already spending. This is one of the most important things in the wedding, you don't want to regret it.

It happens every time I see pics by JoVon Photography, I lose all my marbles
Any other time, I'm extrememly happpy w/my decision. I need my Matron, Nick (my photographer) did her album, and it was awesome, but she's in CA so I cant even reassure myself by looking at her pics, when she comes down for my shower, I'll have her bring it.

BUT yes, it would probably be too late, but I DO know that I LOVED her album, and that will make me feel better

Liz, look at cassarinos site, search for reviews on here from cassarinos. I remember only good stuff about them. maybe this will reassure you! they are very reputable and im sure will be great, maybe you just need to see some more of their stuff?

Funny, Ive been having similiar feelings about photo. just last nite I 'mentioned' to FH about it and he thinks im crazy. we are going with an independant guy recommended a while back from the knot. im sure no one has heard of him! im so sure about my other vendors. I think with all the gorgeous pics and recommendations on here we can go crazy trying to be sure(perfect?!)

I know it is days later but I just saw this post... Please don't let your opinion be swayed by this but I think I am going to drop a deposit double yours and book Creative Compositions.... Jovon may be great in terms of photograph quality but I am none too thrilled with what I heard about their customer service department... Also, a lot of their people are booked for my date....

Creative Compositions is going to cost me more money, about 1,400 more, but I was dazzled by the difference I saw in the quality and style of the shots... I love Traditional Formal Pics and Candids, not so much photojourn and walked out of there with my head shaking!!! It was gorgeous!

I've had the same thoughts Liz, everytime I see other's pictures.....I've decided to stick with them and not worry. I have 2 friends that used them and they were both extremely happy. Their photos were great and fun. One couple's thank you card was an adorable shot of the bride nibbling on the grooms ear and he was making a face like 'whoa'. It was adorable, and just the kind of fun stuff I want. If you sit with Nick before the wedding and tell him what you like, I'm sure he will accomodate you. We plan on doing that with Dominick. No worries! Our pictures will be kick ass!

YAY !!! Misty, you are soooo right, I know I will be very pleased. Nick is excellent that's why I picked him. His style is right up my alley. I heard Dominick is super good too I'll sit w/Nick a couple weeks beforehand and go over everything
