Re: Kids at your reception
I'm only having the ones in the wedding party....Otherwise I found that the list never ends because everyone would want to bring their kids!

Re: Kids at your reception
I had this same situation...I ended up limiting because having kids at the wedding is also more money. We are on a budget, so I cut out all children, except for one cousin who is in our bridal party and he is in his teens. All other children are not invited. Family members got upset, but ultimately, it is our wedding (the bride and groom). We have the final say, because we are the ones getting married. I agree with all you ladies who decided not to have children at the wedding.

I would put 'Adult Affair' on the invite and call her and let her know about the 16 year old cut off.
Good luck.
That's what I'm doing, and if they don't like, 'DON'T COME'

Re: Kids at your reception
I am having my nieces and nephew come--two twin girls and a boy--I am hiring a babysitter to watch the twins in the bridal suite and my nephew will do whatever he wants--I am extremely close with them and I truly want them to be there on my wedding day:)

Re: Kids at your reception
Sorry to intrude on your boards but I agree with no children under 12. My DH had to invite his nephews and niece they were 2 2year olds and a 3 year old. On top of this my BIL invited his 1 month old son to the wedding! I was not happy hearing a baby cry during my ceremony or seeing a stroller in my reception pictures. I was also not happy seeing the other 3 running around the dance floor and screaming during dinner. I wish I would have put my foot down!!

Re: Kids at your reception
Our age cutoff was 13. No kids at my Saturday night black tie....just doesn't seem appropriate.

Re: Kids at your reception
We're only inviting the ringbearers and flower girl, and they will probably be dropped off with their parents friends between the ceremony and reception. He has an aunt that will bring her kids, even though she has been told no children (but she did to his sisters wedding as well). I just love when people think that they have a say over us. My only bridezilla moment will be when I have to confront her over this.
