Anyone have any feedback on Keil's Flowers by Marie in Bayside? Their prices seem reasonable.

Ok, I have a question, I have a few unmarried guests, that live together or are girlfriend and boyfriend or engaged. They were invited on the same invitation. Do I put the two of them on the same place card, or do they get individual ones? How about Mother Father and 18year old son…same card or separate ones? Should I go with the theory that who was ever invited together, should be on the same place card? need help fast…wedding in 21 days!

yeah, i went there to get a quote and had to wait while they did a funeral....i wouldn't want that to happen on my wedding day.....noone i know has recommended them...and they had no original pictures.....i recommed stefans in cedarhurst...or jack&rose on union tpke by st johns university in fresh meadows....they have a great showroom with everything centerpieces bouquets...lots of imaginative ideas.....good luck

We decided on Nick's in the town of Montauk.It is a great spot if you are having a small (we are having about 110)wedding. We rented the second floor which is mostly all windows looking out onto the ocean.Claire & Nick are so nice to do business with and the food is great.

There is an entrance to the beach just outside the restaurant. We are having our ceremony there.

Susan, This message is specifically for you. Over the past week or so I have seen you recommend jack & rose to just about everyone on this site. In addition, I have read your reviews of pedestals and flowers by brian. Most recently I read what I consider to be rude remarks to another bride about the flowers she got from Burtons. Maybe you could just post your feelings about your favorite florist under a new heading and be done with it. The way it looks now I almost feel like you are a florist AT jack & rose.

We ordered our wedding rings tonight. They'll be ready in 10 days. We used the same jeweler we purchased our engagement ring from....he's done business w/my cousin for over a decade so we trust him.

Paul chose a relatively plain band w/detail on the edge - yellow gold. Cost $70. Mine? Well, in order to match my engagement ring, it is a relatively thin white gold w/7 princess cut diamonds across the center. Cost? $550. Sooooooooooo much more than I wanted to spend but within our budget b/c Paul's was simple & inexpensive. Paying cash - no tax.

Sarah, I agree. I feel that she had nothing positive to say about anyone BUT Jack and Rose. Some girl even asked Susan if she was in the floral business and I think she took it as a compliment. LOL

My advice to Jeannine and other girls is to take the good with the bad when looking into vendors. Go with your gut. If your comfortable with them go for it, if not, then keep looking. Just b/c someone had a bad experience, doesn't necessarliy mean it will happen to any of us. The good usually out weighs the bad, and honestly I doubt there is one catering hall on LI that has a flawless reputation. Good Luck.

sarah gee that's an inteligent statement....i've tried to help some of you as you have helped me...a statement like that is purely retaliatory because you do not like my suggestions....maybe you should just start your own private web site and just talk to yourself...i've been on this site for a long period of time and there's a group of us that enjoy helping ourselves and others...just because i may not say something you do not agree with don't get your temper up if you have a problem maybe you should just not read my comments that are helpful as others have appreciated. what happened to everyone having there own comments...look at other florist comments i have made. i have praised cress in smithtown and stefans in cedarhurst. you should be a little thorough before you make a redicoulous hostile statement because noone agrees with you. also look at all of the other florists that are suggested as well as many people that seem to rec jack ros if you don't like my opinion than keep your to yourself!

sarah you've upset me so much. do you remember agreeing with me about the vendor tables?????????? well some of us agree and some of us disagree. if my remarks insulted someone then i'm sorry of course i did not want to insult someone. but why doesn't she write me instead of you. also isn't it better to open ones eyes now before the wedding if we can help each other? isn't this site suppossed to be one of open and honest feelings. forget jack rose then. if you read my messages then you would have seen that i recommended stefan's spitz cress midtown ....all capable florists. the only reason i may have mentioned jack rose more than once, as i have mentioned others more than once, is because somepeople have asked me for more info and also because i had additional info to give out....o.k. so again why fight with me, when i'm not fighting with you and i'm trying to help....as i said forget anyone i mentioned choose whoever you want.....my minds on the stock market and 50-100 basis points, i'm a stock analyst and we do tell it like it is, and sometimes sparing no feelings, that's what it is to publically trade and rep traders, and market makers, .....not to be consummed with rediculous arguing over misinterpreted helpful hints. o.k. so let's put this aside and move on alright forget my suggestions thanks.

i think you girls are too hard on susan. i took advice from several of you. i dont think you should turn the tide on her. esp since she's given good advice. i think if you contibute to this site great nomatter what we say maybe your mad at me for saying this but thats the way it is your going the wrong way. look up millerige inn and jericho terr and limmo guys many of us have pushed our halls and vendors we believe in...i'd sware one girl is so jericho does that mean she works there? i'm new to this site i don't agree with all that is said but i'm learning by it. it beats this nite job. so ease up girls and work together

i agree with tara..a few people have said they didnt like the crest hollow country club because it looked like a hotel lobby when you walk in. we love it and like the piano player in the lobby. i could go on and you would think i work there with all the things i could say. we looked at 10 places for the reception and crest hollow. my daughter and her fiance loved the ch. we got a great price. i'm a mother of the bride and find this site extremely helpful with many things. my daughter and i think alike on many things, but sometimes i can get old fashioned and reading the postings has helped get with the times lol. lets all just read and learn. lots of luck to all of you

thanks for your note carolyn, its nice to know you agree with me. i feel sorry for susan in that a couple of girls have ganged up on her .....i did some reading on other florist messages and i found that rachal and gina have trashed flow by brian ...one of them called him a jerk...well does that mean she works for another company.....i think this site is a good one but these girls should not try to shut up any of us when we encourage honest and pure and detailed information about topics. do you agree. by the way who do you rec , if any, for flowers and photog? when is you daughter getting married?

"g" are you also called gina? beccause if you are just above you have trashed brian....and in a ethnic way! i agree with tara and carolyn that sarah is "out of line" and if you agree you are putting yourself in her class. i'm glad susan/laura/karen/and the gina girl have spoken out no matter what. so dont tash us for talking trash the stores for not! got it. i want info on this site! i agree with tara and carolyn, i praise susan and think you and sarah should ease up....

That is the same Mgr. that I dealt with and I had the same experience. We are booked for Jan. 13, 2001. He was very polite and helpful.

I've noticed that about half the weddings I've gone to (not that I go to one every weekend), half the brides wear a blusher over their face while walking down the aisle, and the other half don't.

I'm sorry to dissapoint you, but I am not the "Gina1298" who frequents this board. Gina's comment about Flowers by Brian was hers' not mine. I would appreciate it if you could direct any comments that pertain to my posts, to me. And even though I cannot speak for her, I'm sure Gina wouldn't like to have my comments mixed up with hers. Although I must say she has definitely given out some unique ideas and great advice.

i agree i think sarah is out of line! she is the one who should keep her comments to her self, not susan! since we're all taking an opinion where does sarah come off telling susan to keep it! here here for susan!!!! lots of good comments. check out other messages where gina says brian is a jerk a guido with a 3 piece suit. good i'm glad gina said that lets tell it all!!! right! and what about the girl who told us about villa lombardi and what about designer flowers who only has a designer answering machine!!!! and brian who didn't give the amount of roses promised!!! and the poor girl who doesn't have her gown from silk and satin! so for carolyn, tara, gina, and prob all of us girls stay on the site susan and keep on going girl.....

I cant wait till we say our vows and its party time! I think after all the preperation, planning, nightmares, stress...etc etc I really am going to need this vacation!

I think its time to put this subject to rest. We are all here to help each other and its just our opinions. With everything else in life to stress over this site is not one of them. As the saying goes....Don't stress the small stuff! We need to visit these vendors and decide for ourselves. carolyn

I beleive that the purpose behind this site is to provide brides-to-be with information to ease the decision-making process we all go through. Information, both positive and negative, provides us with better ammunition to make more informative decisions.

As long as everyone realizes everyone has their own individual opinions and doesn't take everyone's opinion to heart, I think we will all be O.K. I know personally, I appreciate the bad comments as well as the good. People should feel free to express themselves. If they have had bad experiences and are willing to tell us about them to prevent the same mistakes from happening, I for one am willing to listen.

Thankfully, I have encountered nicer staff the past 2 times I was there. Maybe I had previously 'caught them on a bad day'. They also did a wonderful job on my bridesmaids dresses.
