Leonards of Great Neck Price Per Person

I am new to NYCity weddings and recently started looking into Reception Halls online. I just wanted to know if anyone has quotes for late 2012 (September to November) wedding or early 2013 (January to May) wedding at Leonards before I actually booked an appointment. I've heard mixed reviews about their service and food. Has anyone been to a wedding there? Did you like it? Any information would help!

Re: Leonards of Great Neck Price Per Person

No price quotes here but I have been to a wedding there this past summer. Not sure if it was the package the bride/groom selected but there were not many options for cocktail hr. Again this may have been what they decided upon but def check it out. Also, they ran out of utensils during cocktail and there was no one supervising on the floor so no one to even tell. That night 3 weddings were going on. Each has their own floor but since we got sent the wrong way we saw the other weddings.
The reception area was really nice and the food was excellent.
I would definitely go check it out. Have you looked at pics online?

Re: Leonards of Great Neck Price Per Person

I looked at their website, though they don't have many pictures of the rooms avilable. I guess I have to go see it in person and schedule a food tasting. Thanks for your help!

Re: Leonards of Great Neck Price Per Person

i went about a month ago to look at it. the price was REALLY good. 60pp for the day 65pp @ night. I was looking for a Sunday night in Nov. They have a very nice entrance. Its set a little far back from the main road and you would miss it. Its very chandeliery (if that is a real word). The rooms have lighting so no need for uplighting which was a plus. What i didnt care for was the valet entrance area is nothing to look at and the front is so nice your guest would be able to see it. I didnt go to a food tasting there so i can not comment on that. The menu selection from the brochure that i was given was pretty basic RH food. but you can purchase add-ons for a pp charge. They did incl the cake in the package. I would suggest to go see it if its on your list. Also it is LITERALLY on the border of Long Island and Queens. HTH and good luck.

Re: Leonards of Great Neck Price Per Person

I'm getting married there, and I have been to two of their taste testings and I absolutely LOVE their food. The cake I personally didnt want so I dont have an opinion of that. Its true that the parking lot is just a parking lot nothing to look at, but I didnt care because I fell in love once I saw Leonards. They're great to work with, and very accommodating.

Re: Leonards of Great Neck Price Per Person

They do have really cheap prices but they do have a lot of parties going on at one time, so ppl don't like that. I have heard mixed reviews about the food.

Re: Leonards of Great Neck Price Per Person

my brother got married there 4.5 years ago and we go there all the time for events. The food is excellent and lots to pick from but you pay for that.

Many rooms to choose from which is why I did not select it - i remember there was a sweet 16 next to my brothers wedding and there were teenyboppers running in and out which was in my opinion a deal breaker because it was on the same floor and you shared the bathroom.

But I love leonards its very pretty

Re: Leonards of Great Neck Price Per Person

I went to a wedding there years ago (I was a BM) the food was good and the service was nice. Her CH was huge, plenty of choices. I went there to look but the decor was not wha tI was looking for. The price was not that bad either, I just can't remmeber it off hand.

Regardless, it really is a great price. Does anyone have any quotes for Chateau Briand or reviews?

Re: Leonards of Great Neck Price Per Person

We actually just signed our contract with Leonards last night. I haven't been there for a wedding but I have been there for a holiday party and was impressed with atmosphere and the food. The lobby, the cocktail rooms, the reception rooms, the spiral staircases... everything looks beautiful. Food is very important for me and FH.
The prices are surprisingly very reasonable. Our wedding will be in August and its 74 pp (before taxes and gratuity)... includes cocktail hour, open bar, sit-down dinner (1 pasta, 1 salad, and choice of 4 entrees), and a wedding cake.
Since your looking at an off-season timeframe the prices will be even lower... and do not be afraid to ask for them to lower the price and/or throw extras in. We did.
We have been dealing with Rosa. She's very friendly, helpful, and seems pretty accomodating. I hope we'll be able to continue working with her.
They're having a tasting this Saturday (Dec. 3rd) at 1:45. Check it out if you can. I hope this helps you out! Good luck!

TrinalovesRussell... I'm new to this site so bare with me. First off, congrats on booking the RH. That must be so exciting. Thanks for the information. It's very helpful. I just wanted to know if you had to guarantee a certain # of people.

Re: Leonards of Great Neck Price Per Person

my sister was married there, and while some people loved the food, DH & I did not. my fish was served cold and was tasteless.
While the RH itself is very pretty and the prices are great, there are like 5 weddings at a time and we bumped into several other weddings going on at the same time

Re: Leonards of Great Neck Price Per Person

Glad I can help! And thank you! You're right, it is very exciting.
We did have include a guarantee on our contract. Here's how it works: the amount of people will determine which room they'll have you in. Obviously bigger rooms will have larger occupancies. So say there's a room with a maximum occupancy of 200, they would want you to guarantee at least 160 and if you couldn't guarantee that many then they would put your reception in a smaller room. These are not real numbers from Leonards... I'm just making an illustration.
Remember nothing is set in stone. If their guarantee is higher than the number of guest that you were planning on inviting, try talk them down. Take advantage of your wedding being in the off-season. Chances are they won't have all their rooms booked for the date your looking for, and the price is still per person no matter how big or small the room is. If a larger room is available go for the extra space... that means a bigger dance floor for all the dancing you'll be doing!
