Re: Lets start a 'biggest loser' thread
I started LA Weight Loss The Day after Christmas. I've lost 7lbs so far.I definitely cheated on New Years with the liquor. Your only allowed three drinks per week. My goal is 50lbs
before July I must lose at least 35lbs. It's hard

Count me in - My goal is to lose at least 20 pound before my wedding. I already started weaning myself off of sugar and processed carbs and trying to drink water with every meal.
So far I have been eating a lot of grilled chicken breast with different roasted vegetables. I went out and bought the South Beach Diet Cookbook to try and get more ideas.
I firming believe in the South Beach Diet!! I've lost 65 pounds since getting engaged and I only want to lose another 15 before the wedding which I'm hoping wont' be a problem since I stepped up my gym routine. It's all about what you eat & exercise. I've already exchanged my dress for a smaller size.

Ummmm - unless you gained a lot of weight since your pictures, you do NOT need to lose any weight - let alone 30 pounds - that is extremely excessive!!! You look great!

Re: Lets start a 'biggest loser' thread
My first week of eating better and going to the gym is up. i did very good and didn't cheat once all week. i went to my trainer last tuesday and thursday, went on my own on the treadmill friday for 45 minutes and last night i did a little weights on my arms at home.strange thing though which i can't understand. i weighed myself yesterday and i lost 3 lbs. i weighed myself this morning since i officially started on a monday and i've only lost 1 lb. how is that yesterday i lost 3 lbs but 1 day later i've only lost 1 lb. doesn't make sense. can anyone tell me why. either way i'm happy. i did say i wanted to lose 1 to 2 lbs a week hopefully so if is actually 1 lb thats fine. just glad i lost something.
1 week down and 17 weeks to go

Re: Lets start a 'biggest loser' thread
argh, i am so envious of you gals who have lost weight. ever since FH and i started dating two years ago, i gained 7-8 lbs! i thought being in love was supposed to make you lose weight! LOL. i'm in for the biggest loser challenege. I need to lose 15 lbs by march 1 (dress fitting)!I'll probably run and go for lots of fruits and veggies, nuts, lean proteins, yogurt and soy shakes.

Re: Lets start a 'biggest loser' thread
My weight loss fluctuates too - women tend to weigh less in the morning and more when it is that time of the month. Also if you just ate, used the restroom or exercised can effect your weight by a few lbs.Good job staying focused - I have been sick so not working out as hard as I would like, but I am feeling better today so hopefully my cardio won't be as difficult as it has been the last few days!

I agree. you will either hurt yourself or get sick of it. You need a day to rest your muscles.

Re: Lets start a 'biggest loser' thread
Hey everyone... I know I have a long way to go till the wedding, but I want to be able to maintain it. Personally I know I need to start with small goals, they are a lot easier to reach than saying I need to lose 20 pounds or 40 pounds..Big goal
Lose 25 pounds
Maintain it
tone up
Small goals for January
go the gym (3) times a week
do not finish everything on my plate...
This is a great Idea!!!! Love this thread!

Re: Lets start a 'biggest loser' thread
Good idea, I need to loose 12lbs. I have been back to eating good and the gym for a week. I have lost 1 1/2lbs so far. Before I went back to the gym and went on a diet, I weighed myself. I wrote the weight on a index card. What I did also is measure myself. I did my waist, bust, arms, hips, thighs. This way, if I don't see a big weight change, I can see the difference in my measurements. It helps alot.
I will go to the gym 4-5 days a week. cardio 3 days, and weight training 3 days. I will do both some days. Then I would like to take one pilates course a week, and maybe something else like spin.
I cut out soda, chips, candy, cake, cookies, white pasta. Also, a whole lot of other stuff.
I eat out on Fridays and eat what ever I want. I also eat a bad dinner on SUnday nights.
You should never deprive yourself, it is not good. If you go to a party, don't try to stick to your diet, it will never work. It is okay to cheat every once in a while.

Re: Lets start a 'biggest loser' thread
My co-workers and I are doing this. Winter is our busy season, which mean we work 12+ hr. days and most weekends, so if we don't do this we all blow up! We each put in $50 and the person who has lost the most % of weight by Feb. 28th wins the money! We started last week and i have not ddone too well so far. But I'm focused, I won the challenge last year so I know I can do it again!Need to lose 20 lbs by wedding, haven't worked out in 6 mths so taking it slow in the beginning - 2-3 workout p/week, south beach diet.
Good luck everyone!

my goal: to lose 7 lbswhat I'm doing and have to keep doing:
increase the protein I eat everyday - seriously everything I eat is carbs, and I'm really beginning to notice it show in my tummy.
workout at least 3 times a week, one hour tae bo advanced.
eat breakfast - protein!
try to eat more frequently, and decrease the size of the food portions.
phew - that felt good to get out of my head....thanks for the motivating thread!!!

Re: Lets start a 'biggest loser' thread
I could stand to lose another 15 or so before the wedding and really concentrate on tightening up as well.I am doing Billy Blanks Bootcamp as well as going to the gym. I run 2-3 miles a day and do weights three times a week.
