my church won't book 07 yet![]()
me neither but my letter of intent is in the front of the 2006 book
good idea - because we NEED the 5pm ceremony! They only offer 3:30 or 5pm on Fridays, and our recep. is starting at 8....

Re: Meeting w/the priest
So, I met the priest today and we're booked for 11/3/07......and we too were the first wedding to book in 2007. What stinks is the latest the Msgr. will allow us to have our ceremoney is at 2:30 and our cocktail hour doesn't start until 6:00....we were hoping to have a 3:00 or 3:30 start.....oh well, guess I shouldn't be complaining...I should be happy I got my date.

That is exactly what happened to me, I wanted the ceremony to start at 3:30 b/c my CH begins at 6pm, but now that it is going to be 2:30pm my guests will have some time to spare, but I am sure they will find a place to go for a bit....

Same here. My church starts at 2:30 (full mass) and CH at 6:30.
Also take in account how far the two places are from each other and how familiar your guests will be with the area. Don't worry, you can also talk with your hall. Most halls will welcome your guests before the CH starts.

Re: Meeting w/the priest
Our hall told us that if we have guests arrive early there will be no problem they will get drinks and apps. - so it should be OK. I know being a guest at a wedding I hate waiting around but I would always go and have warm up drinks in between.
I guess we have to remember that we need to allow time to get pictures taken too. Our hall is about 30-45 mins from the church. So since we're having a full mass you figure:
2:30-3:30 Mass
3:30-4:15 Greetings and pics at church
Time in between
5:15 Guests Leave for reception
6:00 Cocktail hr. starts
Guests will only have an hr to kill, guess it won't be that bad.
