Jack - if you perform a search on this chat board for the past year for "Milleridge", you'll learn a great deal! : )
I've never heard of her but if you liked her work, why not ask for some references. That way you could check up on her with a few halls or brides.
Good luck.

Jack- To be honest, I have only heard positive things about the Milleridge. I also think it's a great way to go b/c you cut out having to deal with finding a catereer, baker and florist. Their packages include centerpieces. I am having mine there in April 2001. Good luck!
Lisa
Thanks!!

Jack, my future brother-in-law got married there and I thought the food tasted terrific. And I have been to a lot of weddings. My fiance and I checked it out two weeks ago. However, they did offer a very limited menu for a high price compared to other places in that area. In other words, we thought the other places offered us a lot more for our money. It gets just an OK rating on our scale. Good luck!
Good luck on your decision.

Jack- unlike Therese I thought that the Milleridge offered a great selection of food for not such a crazy price. My fiance and I went to look at about 15 different places and we thought that we would get the most for our money at the Milleridge. The people there are willing to work with you on prices the only bad thing is that the minimums for guests are pretty high and there are limited dates left. We are planning on setting our date for there soon.

Christine we are getting married at the Cottage-- I was surprised when you said that the price was not crazy-- We are getting married on a sat night and fell in love with the place but the price was alot higher than any other place-- When are you thinking of getting married? which menu are you going with ?

Laura- we are looking at May or June of 2001, we wanted a Saturday night but all of them were gone so I think we might have to do July. I don't think it's cheap but the amount of food and the quality of it just seems very reasonible for the price, we looked at quite a few places and for Saturday night weddings the prices were between $120-$175 plus a site fee and they didn't include all of the extras like the cake and flowers. I feel like for something that is stressful enough that takes a little of the pressure off.

Personally I think The Milleridge Cottage is more than "OK". I served my guests lobster and filet mignon with a choice of other entrees--I wouldn't consider that limited. It all depends what you are looking for. The places that get "OK's" with me are the ones where the bride and groom rise up through the floor......
Thanks.

Gina- I couldn't agree with you more!!!!!
I am having trouble thinking of a creative way to decorate it though. Any ideas?
My banquet manager was Charles, who treated us as if we were old friends or family. He was very up front with us, and took at least a couple of hours with us, showing us around, explaining everything to us, then leaving us alone to discuss with each other. Then he came back to answer all of our questions, and was even nice to us when we left, without booking, kissing me and my whole family goodbye, as if he were one of us. (If you're Italian, you'll understand the kissing thing)

I can't belive all the Sat are gone-- we went to look at the cottage the weekend before christmas and they told us that come the new year all the Sat would be booked--but we thought that was a selling pitch--of course it worked with us we booked that week-- before we were even engaged (officially that is) what other places are you looking at? we had a lot of trouble finding a place similar to the cottage--good luck
I have to go pick out my flowers to match my invitations.
Good Luck

We looked at all the other reception halls on LI and Milleridge Cottage took our breath away. We also like the fact that it's not a wedding factory. I have been to their restaurant and attended a wedding there and have nothing but good things to say about them. Their food and service is fantastic, they have a large menu selection and we are even going with the seafood bar. The cake and centerpieces are also included.
Thanks, Lisa
Thankfully, I have encountered nicer staff the past 2 times I was there. Maybe I had previously 'caught them on a bad day'. They also did a wonderful job on my bridesmaids dresses.
