milleridge cottage brides

I know a few Cottage brides and Xmas brides wanted to see pics but my scanner was down. Well, I have a new one now and if any of you are curious I would have no problems sending some pics. Just email me........Gina :)

I confronted my mother-in-law to be...confronted my fiance and said "small" or nothing....after much bickering and arguing...we're having a fairly small brunch at the Three Village Inn..they do almost everything for you....honestly if they didn't...I'd just elope...if you all let this five hour event make you sick...you won't have the strength to survive the first battle over whose house you are going to spend the holidays at.....Take your vitamins......and good luck...JessicaE

Gina,

Hi! I am also a Milleridge Bride and would love to see your pics also. My email address is [email protected] . Thanks alot! And also, which photographer did you use??? -Tara

Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated, since I'm doing the flowers myself (silk) ahead of time, and as much as I love Patchogue Floral, I don't want to make too many trips there.

I am just begining to look at reception halls. What did you think about Milleridge Cottage, it looks beautiful. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks. Congrats on your wedding.

What I'm doing, is trying to write down the order of everything that will have happen that day in detail, Example, -get up -breakfast (what do I have) -hair (who's doing it and what time) -makeup (same question)

-toasts (who's speaking and what order) -champagne glasses -last song of the night (confirm with DJ)

Words cannot describe what a wonderful job The Milleridge Cottage did on our wedding! Every little girl waits for that one day where she will wear that beautiful white dress and everything will be perfect--well they did perfect. It was truly like a fairytale(especially with xmas decorations)I must of had my mouth wide open during our whole wedding because I was in awe of the place :) We wanted a classy, cozy and elegant affair and that's exactly what we got...Good Luck...Gina

ADVICE: Whatever you decide to do, let your vendors know ahead of time so that there are NO surprises on your wedding day. Let them know if you are feeding them and that you have paid for it. I don't suggest feeding one and not the other.

Gina-- I would love to see the pictures- we are still in search of a photographer- we have an appointment with Cassarino on Thursday so we'll see how that goes ;-) Laura

I'm sure we have all had problems with e-mail. Aside from getting a thought into words, there are many elements missing from an e-mail that a telephone call or personal conversation have, such as, a persons tone of voice, body and facial expressions etc.

Your suggested tip sheet is a great idea. There is no discussion between you and the client, just something for them to think about and use at their own discretion.

Hi! FINALLY I found a bunch of people who are getting married at Milleridge Cottage. When is everyone's dates? Mine is 9/17/00. Feel free to e mail me to chat! I have most things set up (band flowers etc...)

On another note, we also debated about response cards. Since I'm the one doing all the preparations I had wanted the responses to come directly to me. That didn't seem appropriate if we use the traditional wording on the invite. So, response cards are now going to my parents. Then I'll get them from them. Not my ideal choice, but it's not worth an arguement.

Anyone using/used the Milleridge Carraige House? I've only heard good things. Anyone have any pics they'd like to share.

Gina, I'm curious, were you happy with the floral arrangements you got from the Milleridge florist?

I'm using the Carriage House on 3/25/2000. Have you seen it? I think its beautiful - very quaint and cozy. The fireplace & oriental rug will work well in March....warm weather weddings can have their cocktail hour outside.

3 things to be aware of - first, they say the room seats 130 but thats a high number for that room. comfortably, I wouldn't put more than 9 people at at table (they're small).

second, both times i visited the handicap bathroom was dirty and substandard to the other facilities downstairs. they told me they'd clean it and i asked for flowers in that bath room (its not standard but they're throwing it in). i'm also bringing a bath rug and some nice soap to warm it up a little. we have some elderly folks attending so it will be used a great deal.

depends on alot of factors--there is a big price difference per night and per star menu. I had a Saturday night in December with surf and turf and a full vienese(3* I think), it was $108 pp--I've heard the same setup has gone up to $125 in 2000.....Gina :)

They have several options for menus. Brunch or dinner. The prices start at $42/person for a weekday in the carriage house (the smaller location, I don't know if the cottage is more expensive) and then go up.

Kate, Don't worry I will be with you guys until the end!! I am about to loose my mind!! And at the same time I am having the time of my life! I have only 26 days left and everything is going as well as can be expected. We did the finals at the hall over the weekend, and tomorrow we go over the final arrangements with the DJ, Video, and Florist! This weekend I have my hair trial, and another fitting. Seating has been a PIP to say the least, why do people believe that they do NOT have to send in their RSVP's by the date indicated??? I was so organized and did not believe that I would be running around like this at the last minute!! But I also have a little advise, leave yourself plenty of free time at the end you will need it! Also I do not know if they all do this but my hall provides the cake topper, toasting glasses and cake cutters. Good thing I waited till the last minute on this one, I am not having a cake topper because it does not really go with my cake, and I think that I have enough keepsakes from the wedding so I will use their toasting glasses and cake cutter, besides it saves a few bucks.
