Montauk Weddings
I would like to know if anyone has had an outdoor wedding in Montauk, NY, and the location it was held in, caterers, clery, etc. I'm thinking of the Theodore Roosevelt Park in Montauk, it's on the Sound side of town. Any suggestions??? Also both the ceremony and Reception to be in the same place. Thanks!
I am picking up my finished, fitted gown this friday. I have heard so many negative things about the service in the alterations department of the Carl Place Davids Bridal, I will be sure to let all of you know how that goes!

My favorite place. Montauk. I love it and spend alot of time there. I believe Montauk Manor which is up on a hill in Montauk is a beautiful hotel very medieval does weddings and their property is large enough overlooking the water that they might do tents outside. I also believe that Gurneys in the harbor does weddings as well. Or try Montauk Yacht Club they have accomodations and they do weddings too. Good Luck and let me know what happens.
I'm hiring a quartet to visit Paul late morning on our wedding day ...they're going to sing "Going to the Chapel" and give him a special note from me. : )
Sure, its a little corny but its very much my style. : ) When I was a property manager, I'd go caroling with the quartet for the Holidays and everyone loved it!

I saw something about a "Montauk Weekend Wedding" which included EVERYTHING from hotel accomodations for all guests (up to 300 people for 3 fun-filled days), a full wedding reception, rehearsal dinner, ceremony to two RT airline tickets to any destination for the Bride and Groom for......are you ready.........$50 per person. Any time of the year. My fiancee's mother got the information for his sister's wedding in Fall 2001.
Anyone ever hear of this? It just seemed way too good to be true.....there must be some catch. We are all cynical Brides at this point after doing this for a while...or maybe it's just me.
Any comments appreciated.

That sounds a little too good to be true. It might be at a really "crappy" restaurant. I go out to Montauk on weekends most of the summer. If you know the name of the place that runs this let me know. From going out there so often I know what is good and what to stay away from.
No, it is next weekend. The 26th. I have done the finals at the hall turned in the place cards, favors, reception programs. I have my last fitting tonight, just trying on the final version, hopefully there are no more changes. I am concentrating on the Wedding programs and on Monday I will start shopping for the honeymoon...Today, I feel like I have everything under control. Finishing the catering hall stuff was a big relief, now I am really enjoying it. Gifts & Cards are starting to come in from those guests who could not make it, and I am starting to pack for the big move. I will keep you posted, and definitely. come back to tell you all about it!!

The Crows Nest Resturant and Inn is the place I beleive you are talking about. It's on Old West Lake Drive in Montauk. I've been there for dinner and on the back of the menu they advertise their Wedding Special. The Hotel/motel is right on the property as the resturant. In between this is a lawn where they set up a wedding tent, also on a small lake. Their # is 668-2077. Good Luck!!
Judy, I am sure that the head piece is fine...at this stage in the game the one thing that I have learned is not to take what people say too seriously...you know what they say about opinions...they are like a_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _, everyone has one! for example. the bra that I picked for my dress, one week the lady at the bridal salon said that the cup was too big. I spent a whole week agonizing over it and thinking about taking it back to have more alterations done to it (I got it at Mary's they do custom work) and then the next week she told me how well the bra fit!! Same thing with the slip, my Mom told me that the one slip was too poofy, I went along with her, and took the smaller one even though I wanted the poofy one, and then the next week I put on the poofy one for the fitting and she did not even notice until I told her. Go with your head piece, he has not seen the finished product yet, and don't show him anything else! you will just upset yourself, if his comments are not what you want to hear. When is your date again? Good luck with your dress!!

It does sound like a great weekend wedding, we went there last summer to check out this deal. The reception takes place in a tent in the back of a restaurant. Supposedly "on the water" it is on a very low lying pond. I can just imagine if it is a warm humid night, people will be eaten alive by mosquitos. Even worse, if it rains, it will be very muddy. The food was seafood restaurant fair, the restaurant smelled like damp dirty rags, the accomodations are a 10 unit motel about 40 years old(I did not see the inside of the rooms) and the guests have the pleausure of using 2 port-a-potties.
Please try "The Montauk Downs"it overlooks the golf course and you can see the ocean in the distance. I heard it is pretty resonable, the Montauk Yacht club is also very reasonable for party(small one) or accomadations.
The Surfside Inn is a great place for a really small wedding or rehearsal dinner. I hope I helped!

We went to check out the Crow's Nest for our wedding. I too thought the restaurant smelled & the property had the ability to become buggy & swampy pretty easly. My friend stayed in the hotel there & said it was pretty disguisting.
We decided on Nick's in the town of Montauk. It is a great spot if you are having a small (we are having about 110)wedding. We rented the second floor which is mostly all windows looking out onto the ocean.Claire & Nick are so nice to do business with and the food is great.
There is an entrance to the beach just outside the restaurant. We are having our ceremony there.

Nick's is a great place, and what an amazing view! My sister is having her wedding at The Maidstone Country Club(East Hampton). It also has a view like yours but very expensive because she needs to seat about 200.
The food at Nick's is very good!
