Hi Gals,

Well, everything from my end is going well, however, my mom can't seem to find ANYTHING to wear that appeals to her. Have any of you helped your mom choose what she should wear, and if you wouldn't mind, can you please give me some ideas where you looked? Thanks!

I recommend Alta Moda in Bellmore on Merrick Rd- you try dresses on, basically for shape- then they make you a custom gown with special enhancements- you pick color, fabric, they have beautiful beaded lace overlays-- my mom is getting her dress there. It's a totally custom dress based on another dress she tried on that looked great on her.

ETA-- I did not even realize that I responded to this already-- but whatever- I think it's great for a woman who is particular in her tastes and wants tio pull a little from everythign to make the perfect dresss.

I think depending on what you choose- you can pick several different grades of fabric, or beaded lace, etc...

I would say like $1500 and up.. My mom's dress is totally custom, but she is getting hooked up on price as the desginer there is a former student of her's (my mom is a teacher).. I think her dress is a little over $2K

Honestly- if you are really interested, I would call and ask- I went there with my mom after she picked it out- and did not see everything, although I did look around the store, I did not look at prices.

ETA- this is the base of my mom's dress- it will be a different color underneath, and solid, without the flowers- and the overlay will be this beautiful beaded lace... She looks amazing in it!

With our new time constraints, MOB and MOG will be looking in whatever store they can! We don't have the luxury of time for anyone to be picky anymore!

this is my mom's dress! she just brought it last week... it was hard for her to find a dress (she spent 10 times longer looking for a dress than i did!

)... but my mom is young (only 44), and she fely like all the other dresses she looked at were much 'older' than her, ya know? But i Love this one!! my mom doesnt like anything extravvagant, so i feel like this one is totally her style! FM me if you want more info

My mom thinks that the MOB dresses are too old looking too. I took her to commack wedding center (against everybodys opinions) only because you dont need an appointmnet and they dont cut labels. I wrote down some style numbers when nobody was looking and when we go to burtons next week iam goign to see if they have any.

My Mom said that all of the dresses at the Wedding Center are 'farty.' She was kind of right. I got my wedding dress at the Wedding Center, and the problem I found was that a lot of the MOB dresses were more expensive than my dress!

This is my moms dress...i love it! And she is happy because it comes in petite!

She got it at Adriennes...it is Mon Cheri. She also didnt want anything old fashion.

It is the pink one.
