Not a baby...I cried the day after I got married. We weren't moved into our co-op yet and were living with my MIL. I lived with my parents until the day I got married too.

I think I am even more of a baby. In November, FH and I bought a two family home with my mother. So, now we live above from my mother and will for a long time.

i'm in the same boat! i never went away to college (went to cw post) so I've lived at home my ENTIRE life...and I'm 28!!! FH and i have been looking for places and i was so excited. then when we found one and signed the lease, it hit me that i wouldn't be living at home anymore and i freaked! no more homecooking, no more laundry done, no more seeing my parents everyday! weird, but i'll have to get over it. i think it's just gonna take some time adjusting to it but it'll have to be done...cause i cant wait to spend my life with FH!!!!!

Yes , Thats how i feel ... Your said it ...... Weird/SAd but yet Exciting at the same Time....

Its such a big change to go through - getting married, moving out, - its a totally different lifestyle

I feel the same way as you do ... but Im sooo excited at the same time ... I cant wait to wake up every morning and see my FH .. yea, Im gonna miss living with my parents, having my laundry done, having dinner ready for me when I get home ... and just having the comfort of them always being there .. but at the same time, I can't wait to start my own family, and bring in the values and traditions that my parents taught me into my life with my FH.

I'm going to be 27 and I still live with my parents!!! I guess I better start figuring out how to do things for myself!!!!

i know what you mean ... i dont do laundry so my FH knows that his department I can clean i can cook somewhat.. but I dont do Laundry LOL

Dealing with this now! I am 26 & never lived in a place without my parents until 5 weeks ago!!! I love being married but moving away from my parents especially my mom has been the hardest thing!!! We are best of friends & do everything together! Luckily, my DH & I bought a house 2 miles away so I still go there practically everyday (DH doesn't get home til after 7).

We make it a point to have dinner every Sunday together & when my DH is bowling on Monday's I have dinner with my parents. It is a difficult transition but it gets better in time (everyone tells me)

I moved out at about 20 and never looked back

I'm with you...I moved out when I was 18!! I could NEVER go back..no way, I like my own space.

But you will be fine, there are always adjustments. My husband had not been out on his own either (we movedin together about a year before we were married. It took a while for him, but now he says he could not dream of going back to mom's again. He is the master of his domain I guess...LOL

You are not alone!! I was out of the house during college and lived in NYC for a while but came back. I'm so attached to them and my dog. I have no idea how I'm going to handle moving out - I hope I'm not going to be too sad and kill the excited for me and FH

i'm moving out in a week and i'm 28! it's nerve wracking but it's also exciting. you'll be okay once you realize how much more freedom you have

I feel the exact same way. That is the part that upsets me, not living in my parents house and not sharing a room with my sister.

I lived with my parents (except for college) till a month ago. I am very homesick still, but it is nice to have your own place. The look on your parents' faces when they see what you have done to make this a home, make it so nice.

You will probably be a bit sad, but I know that soon I'll be cool with it
