Re: My friend keeps asking me how much I am paying per plate(trying to trick me...I think)
Hi,I am glad this topic came up, because people asked me how much am I paying per plate for the hall and when I tell them, they fall out and say that is alot of money.
My new answer for them is : 'I would prefer to keep that as private information.'
People want to see my dress, they want to know how much this and that costs.... No one is helping me pay for the wedding besides my family and FI, so the whole world can go suck on an egg. !!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Bellz :)I'm glad I'm not alone in this...I mean I would never ask someone how much something is costing them. Well I'll try to take your advice if she asks again.

What goes around comes around, give them 2/3's of what they give you. If you are tired of being called a liar, show her your contract.

Your friend sounds really rude. People try to weasel things out of me and I just tell the truth its very expensive, I doubt that many people will cover themselves, but I see how stingy some people really are and its good to know.

Wow, you must have added on a lot! I could see how that would all add up b/c just the shrimp display was $6 extra per person. I can't imagine how much more the other seafood options are. But tell her that while $70 is around the starting price, that doesn't even include tax and gratuity yet, and that there are so many more options to add on. And if she doesn't believe you, that's her problem.

Re: My friend keeps asking me how much I am paying per plate(trying to trick me...I think)
Hugs213, I read your letter and was taken back by it. I don't know what to say... the only thing I can think of is HOW DARE SHE!! Friend or no friend - that's just unheard of.It's obvious your 'friend' lack decorum. It's one thing to ask someone 'how much...', but then to out right call them a liar, is another. It's okay to think it, but to actually say it, is just classless.
The next time she asks you, you should say to her, 'as a bride-to-be,' you will learn that it's not tactful to ask another bride-to-be what she is paying... do your homework! Then you smile pleasantly, like you never even had that conversation.

Re: My friend keeps asking me how much I am paying per plate(trying to trick me...I think)
When people ask me, I always respond with 'I'm paying enough'If probed further 'don't worry about it'
If poked more a 'I'm not telling people' works
Why can't people just be honest? I could care less what people pay - pay/give little enough to ensure you have a good time damnit.
