Need a catering hall/small budget!

Hi. I need a catering hall that can hold 150, anywhere on Long Island for my June 2001 wedding. I can only spend $65-68 pp with tax and gratuity included. I would like to stay away from those"Wedding machine" type places. Any suggestions? I don't even know where to begin? Help!!!

Need a catering hall/small budget!

You might want to try the Milleridge in Jericho. They have 2 facilities and 3 different types of menus 1 star, 2 star & 3 star.

We're having our wedding in the smaller of the 2 facilities (the Carriage House). It holds a max of 130pp but the Cottage is much larger & can accomodate more guests. The 2000 price list for the Carriage house quotes $51.00 pp + tax & 17% svc charge for a 1 star sunday afternoon wedding. ($63.87 total pp) 2 star is $60.00pp + tax and svc charge. The carriage house does only 1 wedding at a time and the cottage has a max of 2.

The rates for 2001 MAY be different.....and the rates for the cottege may be different than the carriage house. Their # is 516-931-2132. Good luck!

Need a catering hall/small budget!

I booked the George Washington Manor in Roslyn for my wedding next yeear. It's a converted house - it's very quaint and historic. It fits a max. of 150. The prices are very reasonable, especially if you are willing to have your wedding on a sat./sun. afternoon instead of evening.

You can try The Snapper Inn, in Oakdale, it's an ourdoor tent by the water. Very reasonable. Also try Captain Bill's in Bayshore. Good Luck.

Need a catering hall/small budget!

Michael's in Oakdale is an old mansion converted to a restaurant. They have excellent food, all cooked by "Michael" himself. The price they gave me was $65pp. with tax and gratuity. They also have a gazebo next to a lake for a ceremony.

Good Luck!

Timberpoint country club in East Islip. Ceremony + Reception is about $75 (with tax and gratuity) included. It's a bit more, but the food is great and they include everything (all food, drinks, flower centerpieces, cake). Speak to Michael, they might also work within your price range, they are very flexible.

Need a catering hall/small budget!

Hi There: I am on a limited budget as well. I booked my wedding for a Friday Afternoon on Memorial Day Weekend at Eastwind in Wading River. I picked the pretty country cottage in the front of the place. I saved 40.00 a head. I'm paying 39 and change for an afternoon buffet and the choices are never-ending and people from my office have been going to weddings there all year and say the food is excellent.

Comment about Michael's Mansion

That was on our list of places to look at. This is just my opinion of the place, I do not mean to offend anyone if you have chosen it as your site. We went there and unfortunately they were not open at that time of day. But just from the looks of it, we didn't need to go in. It's not very appealing from the outside and the Gazebo was dirty and gross, the lake is behind the gazebo with only a small space to see it. By the way the lake is dirty. The space for a ceremony on the side of the house is small and no sun shines there. It all may look nicer in the dark.

Need a catering hall/small budget!

> I didnt find the George Washington Manor to be reasonable. But in september I attended a wedding aniversary party at the Nights Of Columbus Hall in Long Beach, the place was great! I didnt even know that I was in what I pictured Knights of Columbus halls to look like. The Imperial Manor is nice as well as The Manor East in Massapequa. Both places are not TOO big and have a really nice decore for the buck. I know what you mean about a tight budget, you want something really nice and affordable that is professional and doesnt look like a budget place. Weddings are a real killer when your paying for everything yourselves. Good luck!!!!
