Re: Newly engaged and new here.
Congrats and welcome! It's definitely possible to see 3-4 RHs in one day - my FH and I did! The majority of places will have you make a separate appt. to taste the food.
Good luck!

Re: Newly engaged and new here.
It is definatley possible to see 3-4 halls in one day, I was home for christmas break and only had a few days to book a hall and the church! And you can just ask them to hold the date for you if you decide to look around more. What part of PA are you from? I'm in Pittsburgh for school. Welcome to the boards!

Re: Newly engaged and new here.
Congrats on your engagement!I think you can def. visit 3 halls in one day.
In my experience we weren't able to taste the food until a showcase or the food tasting about 6 wks before the wedding.
I'm not sure about your deposit question, but I agree it can't hurt to ask..it's prob. different for each catering hall.
Oh...and there are def. girls planning their wedding from outside of NY. You'll see for yourself...the addiction will grow!
Good Luck!

I have a price list from Villa Lombardis and for a Saturday night I think you have to guarantee 200 people. It says here the price is $125 per person but I'm sure thats negotiable.
If you want Saturday have you thought about a Saturday afternoon? It's $100 per person with a minimum guarantee of 100 people.
I don't know how negotiable they are... As it was presented to me : that the price is the price and if you don't like it then some one else will. That is basically what I got out of the 'nice way to put it' from the banquet manager. There was alot of stuff on there menu that I know that I wouldn't eat or our families (ex. sushi bar / raw bar) I tried to ask if we eliminateed some stuff what could we do and that when I got 'the speach', I will say that it is a very beautiful place and there prices are One price for Friday, Saturday and Sunday all year round. They don't believe in different season prices. I would definately shop around if you have a certain budget in mind... We booked our hall unexpectedly --- we made a wrong turn and ended up there instead and fell in love. You pick what you love. Good Luck

Re: Newly engaged and new here.
congrats! You can definatley pull off 3-4 halls even more depending on the location and time of your appointments!
You usually have a food tasting after you leave your deposit
i know when i left my depsit it was refundable with no questions. Iguess it depends on the RH
I am planning a local wedding but I am a fall bride as well!

Re: Newly engaged and new here.
Thanks girls! I scheduled 3 appointments! I think we'll be cutting it close with two of them, they are an hour and a half apart and 10 minutes from each other. Hopefully, we will be okay!I also asked a majority of my wedding party today, I hope its not too soon, I'm just so excited!
