No Budget

I'm getting married in 110 days, and as of now I can not afford a photographer. We've both reworked the budget and we don't have the 800 to 3000 to pay for pictures. Is it unheard of to ask guest to snap photos of the ceremony??? Originally we were suppose to go to the justice of peace and enjoy a trip together but now it's become a small wedding. :( I'm only sad because I can not put in the money I'd like. We have cut cost by doing the invites, decorations, and I'm even preparing a dish or two for the wedding. I'm at a total lost for the photos though. I thought about doing a photo book sign in book (handmade) and leave us a note with a prop table but now I'm thinking about making a back drop or something to compensate for the fact that no one is taking our pictures. I'm trying no to stress about it but it's all I think about.

No Budget

What about a local college student studying photography? They'd most likely be cheap if not free (push the fact that they'd have an entire wedding in their portfolio) and then at least you'd have someone there whos ONLY job is to take photos. Guests are there to have fun. Not make sure they get a photo of your first kiss or you putting the ring on your new husbands hand. Those are photos you'll regret not having and you cant rely on guests to get them for you.

Re: No Budget

Rcotter's idea of hiring a college student is a great idea. I wouldn't rely on guests for your wedding pictures. I think you would be really disappointed if you did that. :o(

No Budget

Try Using this website Thumbtack.com
You Select the budget you have and puts you in contact with the vendors in that range.
The lowest range in Wedding photography was 400-600.
I think its a great idea to recruit a college student majoring in Photography - they will be willing to take a low fee to build their portfolio.
I would also check on craigslist - Just make sure to read reviews prior to booking (i find yelp reviews the most helpful).
