We're actually stretching a little for the Northport area as it is.
remember...the lower taxes will help to make up for it

Re: Northport, East Northport, Kings Park Schools?
I am living with my FIL's (to save for house) in Kings Park, and we love it. My FH's grandparents live in E. Npt. and it's really nice too.I don't know much about the school districts. FH graduated from Npt - E. Npt. HS and he feels it was an ok education. (Both districts are not as good as Harborfields or Cold Spring Harbor).
There is a little part of Kings Park that I love called San Remo. It's close to the water and the houses are smaller and closer together, giving it a kind of seaside-town feel. And it's not too pricey.

Re: Northport, East Northport, Kings Park Schools?
This might be a consideration...the KP train station although i have never had problems taking the train there, is long, an hour and a half each way. And it diesel so you have to switch trains in either Jamaica or Hicksville!Just something for your DH to consider if he is going to work in the city. Greenlawn is a really nice area FBIL lives there, has some of the best SDs in the area and its closer to the Huntington train station (a hour commute, do not need to change trains)
KP is a nice area, but this is one of the reasons FH and I are not looking there (I work in NYC) Good Luck!
