Oh my gosh this is awful news. I'm so sorry to hear of the loss!! My thoughts go out to you and the doggys family (your Mom and all else who were part of it's life)

OMG!!! This happened to my FH's puppy pug also!!! I think he still misses Trixie everytime he see's a pug and it's been about 6 yrs now. I didn't know they are more at risk. So Sorry for your loss!!

Did the vet warn him?

NOOOOPE!!! They actually ended sueing the doctor. He actually had other malpractice suits pending..... SUX!!

The vet felt awful. He had to cancel the rest of his day because he was so upset. And, it won't bring Sam back, but we are investigating this further. I even tracked the doctor down at home and called him to find out what the F$&*(# happened. Did anything come of the lawsuit? Did your FH win the case?

SO, sorry. There is a new type of neutering which requires just an injection to the testicles. It is called Neutersol. Not all vets have it. I am not sure whether we will use it for Oscar, who is not neutered yet.

I am sooooooo sorry for your loss, I know it wont bring Sam back but I would def not leave this case alone so it brings awareness to the rest of the vets NOT to make this mistake again and give the pet owner the option. Take legal action, in Sams memory for the lives he can save now. Another angel in pet heaven.

I am so sorry for your loss...my sister just brought her pug in to be neutered two days ago. I'm not sure if she was aware of the risks. It's good to know for the future.

Thank you for all your support. I just wanted to keep you updated - we've definetely found that it seems the vet was negligent - so my mom is deciding how she wants to proceed.

In the meantime, because it is so painful not to have a puppy pug in the house, even though no puppy will ever replace their Sammy, my mother and stepfather got a female pug today. Her name is May.

First pic in Sam when we babysat him a couple of months ago, and the second in baby May.

i'm glad to hear they got a new little one. i know that she isnt' to replace sam, but i can vouch for the fact that it helps with the grief. i send them my love.
