Your sister said she did that the first time around and got a bunch of weirdos replying, stuff like 'I'll pay you $50 and just ship him to FL' or saying they can sell him to a lab for tests!!
So because of that, I'm afraid to go the craigslist route.

After adopting the cat from another bride's sister, we have been informed that we can not keep him any longer because our landlord is only allowing us to have 1 pet, and we have 1 cat already. So unfortunately, the new cat has to find another home.![]()
His name is Dylan, he's very playful and curious. He's about 3 1/2 years old and fixed.
If someone can give him a loving home, please let me know. I do not want to bring him to a shelter at all, but we can't keep him for too much longer. He needs to be the only cat in the house, as he did not always get along well with our cat Frisky.
How does your landlord know how many cats you have? Are you in a private apartment or a co-op? What's the difference between 1 and 2 cats? It's just not right. It's not like they're making noise or anything!
I lived in a co-op for years with a 'no pet' rule and I had multiple cats.

I lived in a co-op for years with a 'no pet' rule and I had multiple cats.
We rent the 1st floor of a house, which he owns and lives upstairs. We're all friendly in the house, so we all stop by each other's apartments every so often. He didn't have a problem with our 1st cat (plus when I moved in, she came with me) but now that he has seen the 2nd one, and his allergies have been acting up, he wanted us to get rid of BOTH. We fought him on it, and he said fine, he has no problems with the 1st cat, but the 2nd cat has to go. FH said if we had to get rid of both, then we would just find another apt.
The girls downstairs have 2 cats and are fighting him on this also, to the point where he gave them 30 days notice to get rid of them. It's a matter of time before he gives us the same notice.

I'd move before I'd get rid of my animals, but that's me.
ETA: I'd take him but I promised FH I wouldn't get any more animals. I have, um, 15 cats, a dog, 3 rabbits and 5 guinea pigs. I am Dr. Doolittle.

I really wish we could take the cat, but DH is allergic
If you absolutely have to take the cat to a shelter, please try North Shore or Bide-a-Wee on LI, they don't put animals to sleep

Playful cat needs home
I'm so sorry you have to give up your kitty! I have 2 already, and I can't have anymore. You should go to www.petfinder.com
Not only do they list tons of rescue organizations, but you can also post, for free, in the classified section at the top. That is how I found one of my squishy kitties...
Good luck to you-

Thanks, we tried calling about a dozen or so today, and waiting to hear back from some of them. Unfortunately the Bide-A-Wee in Wantagh is full for adult cats, as well as another place I called.
Hopefully by the end of the month we'll have a solution.
