go see an ENT also.

I had the same problems and turned out I had severe and chronic sinusitis. I had sinus surgery and it made a world of difference for me - I am so much better now. No more migraines and no more terrible sinus infections / sinus pain!

My ENT is in RVC - if you want his info FM me.

I'm supposed to have sinus surgery for my chronic sinusitis but i'm terrified of having my nose packed, b/c i can't sleep at night if my nose is clogged!!!
However I heard if you flush your sinues it helps...

But i'm getting to the point where i might just get the surgery, anyone have it and not have it help?

A friend of mine used a Dr. that does not pack the nose after surgry. I'm not sure of his name but I wanted you to know of the option.

I've read that it is only temporary, but don't know personally. I think I'd still give it a try if it came down to it.
One of the women I work with used an ENT specialist in RVC. I wonder if it's the same one? She loves him and has recommended a couple of other people to him. Sounds like he does this surgury quite often...

Not all doctors pack, and not all patients need to be packed.

Unfortunately it is the type of surgery where you can not guarantee 100% relief no matter who your doc is.

Re: NWR: Sinus Pain!!

I take Excedin for the really bad ones. Usually Tylenol Sinus works though.

We have been treating patients very successfully who suffer from chronic migraines with Botox injections.

I have been able to pre-authorize the injections with a few different insurance companies so the injections are covered.

My insurance would not cover for it. My neurologist mentioned it to me and smiled

Re: NWR: Sinus Pain!!

I have suffered terrible headaches for years that I always thought were sinus headaches. I thought they were sinus related because the pain would come about with a change in the weather and be right between my eyes or near one eye and if I put pressure on that one spot, I could actually relieve the pain.

No over the counter remedies worked however, so I finally went to a neurologist. He diagnosed me with migraines! He said there is no such thing as a sinus headache. People can have sinus infections that include a headache, but he says people can't get a sinus headache without an infection or congestion. He gave me an article to read that addressed this. Apparently, migraines can be caused by a change in the weather! It is quite common!

He prescribed Imitrex for me and it has made my life a LOT better. Now if I could only figure out how to stop the weather from changing!

Try going to a neurologist. Have yourself checked out if you get these headaches a lot. Good luck!

Very true.. being a migraine sufferer for 20 years, I can relate. I have both migraines and allergies. Sometimes my allergies trigger migraines. Sometimes it's just a migraine.

If you have migraines, talk to a specialist. Just be very careful not to take OTC pain reliever too often, they will trigger more migraines and they will come more and more often.. Creating a circle of you taking more OTC. Also be careful with decongestant. For example don't take Allegra D take just allegra. My neurologist told me that the D can trigger migraines.

Then here are some of the triggers, bacon, caffeine, nitrites (cold cuts), chocolate, wine, lack of sleep, irregular sleep/eat pattern, weather (pressure), lights, etc.....

Re: NWR: Sinus Pain!!

I just got over being sick for a whole week and it felt like what you are describing. I took an antibiotic and it went away.
