I was so nervous today. I feel like I have so much riding on my shoulders now.

My bosses are really great though. So I'm very happy.

Sorry, I used to be a legal assistant at this firm. But now I'm working as an attorney. I'm going to get my own cases/clients, my name is going to be on the letterhead, get my own business cards, etc.

Thank you Jaime. It feels great, but I'm still nervous. I'm dealing with people lives here (not literally, you know what I mean), so I'm so scared of giving the wrong info or just messing something up.

I guess what I'm feeling is normal. I just need some practice.

By the way, I'm not an 'official' attorney yet, I just took the NY and NJ bar exams in July and the results come out in November.

Congrats on a good 1st day! What kind of law are you practicing??? I just started sending out resumes today-I just don't feel emotionally ready to work yet-LOL!

I saw people from school at Court today and they couldn't believe I was working already. Trust me, I'm not ready either. But we really need the money right now and the firm needs me b/c the other associate is leaving.

I'll be practicing mostly matrimonial/family law. The firm also does real estate, wills/trusts and some employment discrimination. But their main focus is on matrimonial issues (mostly contested divorces/child custody

). So you could imagine some of the clients that we're dealing with.

Oh that's great! I am trying to get into matrimonial also-there aren't too many jobs out there in that field. I interned at a mat firm all last year but they didn't have room for another attorney. I applied to one today, so maybe they'll call. (although I don't mind this unemployed situation!!!)

That's amazing you went to court already! I'm soooo scared of court!
