going to the gym
and think of me at 9am tomorrow running a 3.5 miles race in the snow! ( my sisters idea- to benefit luckiema - lymphoma society!)
That's so great!
I will definitely be thinking of you while I'm at the gym. Come hell or highwater, I'm dragging my lazy butt out of bed and going.

I read this in a 'health' magazine. One of the best ways to enjoy the yummy holiday dishes is to drink a BIG glass of water before you start eating.
Then as you are eating put your fork down and chew your food instead of shoveling food in your mouth.
This is supposed to make you feel full on less food.
Happy Thanksgiving!

The one-plate rule. Just take one helping of dinner THAT DOESN'T MEAN HEAPING. You should still be able to see some of the plate. Choose a small portion of a dessert and you should be fine. You probably will just maintain weight for the day. Skip the cheese and crackers...eat something small before the dinner actually begins so you are not starving. Easy on the alcohol. Decide what is more important...drinking your calories or eating them. Just some things I am going to TRY to do. We'll see what really happens.

I am on a very strict 800 calorie diet right now, but i plan on enjoying my Thanksgiving. I am not going to stuff myself sick, but I will enjoy my favorite foods. I plan to go for a run in the morning,
The hardest part is getting back on friday and sticking with it. No left overs for me!
800 calories? Is that healthy?
No, it's not. Please, please, please consider increasing your calorie intake to 1200 per day. Your body will go into starvation mode at less than 1200/day.
I agree. that is VERY low, and you could be doing yourself more harm than good. ALL experts recommend you not go any lower than 1200. You could do serious harm to yourself.

If you don't eat enough calories everyday your metabolism actually goes into shock mode and slows itself down. You will initially lose, then plateau and have trouble losing, and eventually gain. The body protects itself.

Not to mention that you have to take IN a certain amount of calories a day in order to burn calories to burn fat. Any nutritionist would probably tell you that.
