Old Westbury Gardens

I will be getting married in April of this year and planning on having photos taken at Old Westbury Gardens. Anybody have any experience there? Also, I need some advice..should the whole family go or just the wedding party? If both families go, will there be enough time for pics? I only have one and half hours there.

Again, Thanks Again for the heads up on the ordering problem there, I am not overly concerned about the ordering problems. It's really just a dress it would not destroy the day if things did not work out. Everything works out in the end!!

I went to two weddings there in the past few months. To me it seemed like a factory with no personal attention. At the end of my best friends wedding they rushed her out because there was another wedding after hers that they had to get ready for. The DJ (house DJ) stopped playing ten minutes before the end to aid in the get'm outta here for the next wedding turn around.

I am looking for places to take photos for my April 2001 wedding. What is the deal with the Westbury Gardens? I have never been there?

Old Westbury Gardens

Old Westbury Gardens is BEAUTIFUL but a little on the expensive side. I think it's about $250 per 1 1/2 hours for wedding photos. You should really check it out. Their website is oldwestburygardens.org

Just know that if you register now, be prepared to go back in 6 month intervals to update b/c inventory changes. I only registered in December and I just received a letter from Fortunoff's regarding the discontinuance of my sheets.....

Good luck - and take it slow. Even with the best plans, expect things to go a little nutty at times & roll with it! ;)

Old Westbury Gardens

Josie-I had my pictures at Old Westbury last July. They came out beautifullly. It is $250 for 1 1/2 hrs but you have to be done by 4:30. After that the price goes up. They have an escort meet you at the gate and take you around to the different gardens that were pre-chosen by you. The lady we had was very helpful and even carried my bag for me. I think the escort also makes sure that you don't bump into any other brides that are there at the same time. One suggestion - ask if you can make a quick trip to the "Temple of Love" - it's a quaint gazebo at the far side of the lake that they don't mention in the application that you fill out - you'll get some great shots of you and your husband, but I think it's too far of a trek to take the whole gang.
