Order of Ceremony HELP!

HI Ladies: Can someone help here. I'm having a catholic ceremony at the church, not a mass. Can anyone tell me the order of the traditional ceremony without communion. Is it: - Opening Prayer - Reading #1 - Reading #2 - Responsorial Psalm

Gospel & Homily

- Prayer for the Faithful

Order of Ceremony HELP!

Kate - Your best bet is to call the priest or church office. They will be able to tell you the exact order.

Well Cathy, with 23 days left, I am doing as good as can be expected!! I finalized everything with FT and you are right they are wonderful!! We are in the process of putting together the seating plan. What a task!! I am just trying to relax and enjoy everything at this point...thanks for asking...Jamelle

Order of Ceremony HELP!

Thanks Dorothy. I thought of this, but I am slightly embarrassed to call the church, as a catholic, and ask the order of the ceremony. I don't think they want to hear that! I haven't gone to church in a while. Shame on me.

We decided on Woddbury cc down the road. The grounds are more secluded and nicer and I was really impressed with the menu, price and both reception rooms. There are two weddings at a time but they are really concerned about keeping them totally separate. The people you deal with there have been very nice also. They have also recently renovated the entire place so everything is new.

Kate - Don't be embarrassed! I'm sure you're not the only one who doesn't know this. Call the office and talk to whoever answers the phone. That was you don't have to ask the priest. Tell them you're printing programs and want to be absolutely sure. Maybe say that you're not sure if things are different for a wedding?

Good luck! Sounds like you're getting close!

I'm 4 months away, but trying to get this little stuff done and place it aside. One less thing to worry about and I want my ceremony to be really special.

Good luck, Stephanie Classic Favors and Invitations

Order of Ceremony HELP!

Kate, did you go to precana yet? At precana they will give you a work book that includes and outline for the ceremony with suggested readings.

Thanks for all the feedback, everyone!

Order of Ceremony HELP!

Hi Karen: I just looked at my book and I do have the order of the ceremony! Thank you! It's in the very back of the book!

The first 2 classes were at 1 couples (teachers) home and now we are at the other couples home. Next Saturday is our Mass and presentation of our certificates. Both homes are right around the corner from my home. I went through my local church, which is my parish for the neighborhood. Are you going or signed up?

Precana & ceremony questions

We went in November....you're having a mass to present your certificates? How wonderful! We met with the Msgr on Saturday and gave him all our paperwork (exclusive of the certificate).

Did you get the white book with the cross on the cover? That's the one we have...We need to finalize the readings, meet with the organist and then send all the info in at least 1 week before the wedding.....

We did the 1 day precana gig. Paul works in NJ and I work in Suffolk county (we live in Queens). the 4 meeting precana would have been difficult to coordinate with our schedules.

Order of Ceremony HELP!

The four weeks somehow just worked out. Didn't know if it would, but you learn to adjust your schedules. I did get a lot out of it, but tonights topic is religion, and my fiance is not a believer at this time, so it will be a tough one. I'm not marrying him for his religion, I'm marrying him because of who he is. I did get the white book with the cross on it. I just realized your wedding is March! I thought you were June. Yes, we have a mass next Saturday for pre-cana.

Also, is it better to rent from a place closer to your site(woodbury) or where you live? (bklyn)

I would guess closer to or in woodbury would be easiest..since the returns can be done the next day.

I have the same issue - Paul isn't a big believer. He hasn't even received Communion...so we had a wonderful discussion with the Msgr & he's been working with Paul to get him to a place where he can receive Communion in the nuptual mass (I wanted the mass...12 years in Catholic School - gotta have a mass!)

Yup, our big day is March 25th....counting down!!

: )
